Here are the newest pics - 3 weeks old today

Have since added another roosting branch since 3 of my 6 girls are now using this one above.

Went above to wood chips - the play sand wasn't working. Hoping
a courser sand in the run will work.

You can see above shows the feeding tray tied up a bit so I get
less wood chips in the feeder.

2 more pics I took last night. Sorry they are a bit dark
Had to line the pen in plastic sheeting so the sand and/or wood
chips would stop slipping out onto the floor. The girls don't mind it and leave it alone.

your chick will end up like my Peepers did if not maybe a little worse, keep checking that ones weight to make sure its getting enough food. It will end up lighter than the others, but make sure its not bone thin. Make sure the feeder is filled enough that it can scoop some food in with its beak, same with the water. Good luck

had enough material to make two hives....bee order got pushed back to the 12th and we have chicks hatching any day now!!!
Top bar hives are sweet... I built one but never used it... I have 2 langstroth hives... TBH's are more natural but my goal was maximum honey production... The crush and strain method causes the girls to work more....

We're doing them for better gardens this year with the addition of free honey. I'm alone in this venture as the GF does not like bees at all.

Good morning everyone, another nasty rainy day, my yard is already flooded and the chickens are not happy about the swampy conditions :( what I wouldn't give for a week or 2 of sunshine.
