I think we actually got by yesterday without
more than a light sprinkle but really think we
missed even that much........I can HOPE for 2
days in a row but really doubt it will happen

Let's see if we can do what we did yesterday, you say it's not, I say it is, and It ends up staying fairly dry.

that baby comes soon! I know you are ready to get that baby OUT {& to meet her, of course}! YAY on your garden -- and especially the watermelons. I remember not so long ago you were hungry for some watermelon and sad yours had died... I think your "black thumb" may be getting a little greener!

Our animals are like our children as well. Hang in there, something good is bound to come of all of this!

Happy Wednesday everyone! We are surely enjoying our summer. Lots to do around here, we are FINALLY done moving our entire lives from Ohio to here {I am NEVER moving across country again}, now to put everything away

LOL...I may end up with so many watermelons that I will have to figure out what to do with them all. Sadly, eating the watermelon did NOT throw me into labor (which I am okay with at this point in time. My "on call" babysitter is out of town until tomorrow night, so I'm hoping the baby stays put...I really DON'T want to go to the hospital and labor alone!!) Wish me luck in the garden area...I am attempting to do my first ever BLANCHING of green beans!! I fear some of them might be a little "bitter" as they are quite big (we didn't even know any were actually growing....oops), but it'll be a good experiment for me. We're trying to figure out what to plant in the spots where the tomatoes & peppers didn't grow - DH suggested Oats, but I don't know... I was thinking peas would be a good fall crop to plant, since we missed the spring planting!?!

x2!! Let's keep it dry today...I won't even THINK about doing diapers the rest of the weekend!!

2Strays - I am SO sorry for your loss!!

I can tell you there is a Sheltie breeder just down the road from me, but I have never SEEN any of their dogs, so I cannot speak on how well they are raised/taken care of etc...I just know they have a sign out front. I hope you are able to find a companion as well as take the time needed to grieve! I am sending you thoughts and prayers!!

No baby and no ducklings which is okay...mama is doing well (this mama is getting anxious and nervous and REALLY hot...lol) but has rejected an egg...I'm letting DH handle that one, as I am sure after 30 days...it's a little bit more than "ripe"...eweeeee. I have plans to do a LOT of baking today, so I am hoping the weather cooperates and it's NOT too humid/hot. Have a great day everyone!!

During the day here it was dry...while I was at work. It poured at my house starting 7/8. Flash flood warnings for all. Yay!

Ok...so my neighbor's hen is brooding....for over a month. My neighbor can't get the hen off the nest so I go over at night and get the hen off the nest. What do I need to do to get this hen to stop brooding? She did this last year but it did not last this long. Her comb is fading and droopy. She looks bad. Help!
Does anyone have any advice for me?
