i wouldnt pay that much they could be just saying that they r sexed but arent did they say how they did it i have heard many ways but none of them are very accurate

They're guaranteed so if they send the wrong ones I get my money back, but the people I know that went through them all got the girls.
It is way expensive, but I'd rather pay the money up front to have a girl, then pay a few dollars take my best guess and get stuck with a roo I love that I have to give away. (And after feeding them for 6 months I'm sure it ends up costing more to give away a 6 month old roo than pay the $75 for 3 girls up front).
I really wanted to get a show quality dna sexed blue female silkie, but it was over $400 so this is a bargain compared to that....

Supposedly, it's DNA but I've heard of people who didn't get 100% girls even after paying for them.....fwtw, lol.
I was on Pinterest looking at chicken stuff and they give a couple of ways to sex baby chicks....do you know if they are worth the time to try? I just pinned chick sexing and these things popped up. Go check it out and let us beginners what you think . LOL I know you have all this tie on your hands! (yes, I know better!) But if you get a chance

*****Cockerels For Sale*****
700
700

Location: Western Burke County.
Price: I would like to get as close to $5 each as possible. Negotiable.
Age: Hatched June 9th.

These were raised by a hen freeranged and are still running around. I have not handled them at all and they are wild. Their mother finally gave them up 2 days ago, but the Marans is still trying to get her to pay attention to him. Other then that they are ready to go. Fat(for their age) and healthy.

I am NOT NPIP. Just a waste of time for someone that doesn't show anymore.

Matt-- Is your second one a blue copper marans?
I have one that hatched that looks just like it. Of course it's a boy too! His brother is a deep black, blue green in the light.

JTBass-- Silkies are SUPER hard to sex, you have to wait until they grow out and get the saddle feathers usually. As far as other chicks go some breeds you can tell based on coloring. In general, the way I've been able to sex all of mine in tail feathers. The girls will always get tail feathers first. They should have full tails when the cockerals are just starting to get some. Though this takes 2 weeks to really get a good idea. You can try to guess by the size of comb at hatching, but that's not as accurate as waiting until they grow out more. They also say that cockerals have thicker legs as chicks, but I think all of mine look the same size. But yeah, to sum up, I always go by the tail feathers and so far I have been accurate on all of mine (besides silkies)

Silkies cannot be feather sexed and apparently vent sexing on bantams can't be done reliably because they are so small. That pretty much leaves DNA.... (and feather sexing doesn't work on every breed).

Although I will say I've feather-sexed several breeds pretty well....... (I have a blog post on that, fwiw,)

I should add-feather sexing *has* to be done early-preferably before day three, because the boys start to catch up. That's one of the reasons I go for day old chicks. And really, once you know what you're doing, it's not that hard. :D

Outside he looks like a Black copper marans, but in the pictures he looks like a Blue Copper. I need to catch him when I open their coop in the morning and take a close look. He is the only one I had hatch out of the 6 eggs I paid $10 for. Since it was the only one to hatch I knew it was a Cockerel from day one.

Went to the TSC flock swap today. Not that busy but I did sale all the birds I brought (11). One got loose, quite a scene watching me chase that bird around the truck. She decided to get under the spare tire. So with a crowd of people standing around just watching this unfold, it was quite embarrassing. Finally got her out and packed up my stuff and left. Very eventful day.
