You think you could get eggs to hatch that were airmailed from another country....

Because this is a very tempting offer!

Though how would you keep them from overheating or whatever in shipment. Indonesia is really hot.....
I don't know for $200 might be worth a try you're not finding eggs for less than $2,000 over here right now!

Hi Everyone! I have been extremely busy and not logged in for about a week, it seems much longer though!

Welcome to the new folks! I saw someone from Lee County, I am in Sanford.

DST, My girls have also been a bit slow on laying lately - although not as slow as yours. I don't know if it is the changing weather, hot, cooler, hot or decreasing day light but something has them slowing down. I am chalking it up to nature and not getting too concerned about it.

I love everyone's pictures! Such pretty birds and well mannered dogs!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

DB, Sorry, but you can't import eggs from many countries, including Indonesia http://www.aphis.usda.gov/import_export/animals/poultry_eggs.shtml (bird flu precaution).

Is that new? I hear of people advertising hatching eggs with shipping rates to the US all the time, just never messed with it because I figured the hatch rate would be next to impossible.

Not only illegal. IF you do it proper, it is several thousand dollars to import.

Does anyone grow fodder? I am having a hard time locating barley seed around the asheboro area... any ideas where to look.

I want to get my system set up for winter when I do not have much to feed the chickens besides their layer ration. Any help would be great!

Hope everyone is having a great holiday weekend!
