North Carolina

Here's the last chick that hatched out. Lost another egg. not developed all the way, more developed than the first one I lost. Everybody has been telling me that these 3 eggs are no longer any good because the only time she sits on them is at night none during the day. Didn't hear no noises either and the eggs are cold, so I open the second one that was 4 days late and guess what, it starts to bleed and was moving, its still alive! So not knowing what to do, I finished getting it out hadn't absorbed the yolk yet. Of course it died, but the other egg that is left is staying in there. I will not do that again. I feel so bad cause I killed the little chick. Live and Learn I guess.

I am so sorry that you lost a chick that way. Your others are beautiful though!!

Looks just like my blue copper splash Marans x black sex link chicks, & the reddish one kinda looks like my blue Marans x RIR (or New Hampshire Red -still not sure!)

I also have this peachy colored pullet crossing my blue Marans with my so-called RIR! Hybrids are beautiful!

Oh yay! Hope he is a splash maran! We have some Cuckoo Marans and I love them so much. I really am starting to get this bad feeling that my favorite little Maran is turning into a rooster!!!!!!!!!

. It can't be a roo! He might follow after his daddy and we had to get rid of him. We do know actually that the little chick with rocky is a cross between a golden comet and a lavender orpington.

Oh and I found someone else with chickens that live 3 miles from us!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you had a rooster, you could listen when he crows and hear if there are any roosters near you for a few miles. If I listen in the mornings or evenings, I can hear several roosters crowing before or after mine and they sound pretty far off.

Hello to all my other chicken people!!! Now I got a question for all of you chicken people inside city limits. My friend is really into chickens and really wants to try and get her neighborhood to allow her to have some chickens. She would buy some chicks from me and everything, but doesn't really know how to get them allowed. Have you had any of you had these problems and if so how did you figure them out. Since we are out of city limits I don't know much about the restrictions and need help figuring it out for them. They are dying to get some chickens in their yard. I need your help to get them help. Haha

Ah this is why I love being outside city limits. NO RULES ON CHICKENS!!!!

Or goats... or horses, or dogs, or cats, or guinea pigs, or mules, or anything else we happen to have!

it is a struggle dealing with chicken ordinances she needs to contact her neighborhood committee and or city I was raised in the country and when my parents divorced and my mom moved to the city I tried my best to get chickens approved in her neighborhood so I could have some when I came to visit but never happened

oh please don't just candle it and throw it out if it is clear trust me a rotten stink bomb is not something pleasant to deal with lol

What I can see it's not clear. It's dark in there. I heard about the exploding eggs. One of my neighbors that has chickens came over tonight and told me to give it a few more days. Wish I had talked to him sooner.
