I found my rooster so far. He was 3 miles away! Down the road. I went to go to my mothers and came across a white fluffy mass in a ditch. I stopped and he came running out like he knew it was me. I'm overjoyed and am now searching the neighbor hood for my others.
Congrats! I hope you find some of your hens.

Me too. Thank you for the support. I'll keep you all posted
So sorry for your losses and great news on the rooster..Maybe there will be more.

Ok good news I found my rooster in a ditch. 3 hens that got trapped under a flipped over old john boat. And 3 young 2 month old chicks in a neighboring doghouse. I feel so much better, I'm still looking tho

Afternoon all! Welcome to the newbies!

TiaRC I am SO sorry for your losses!! Congrats on finding the 7 so far!! Hope you find the other three soon.

Hollow, I wish I knew. Sorry for your losses too! I hope the rest of them make it alright.

Hollow.......sounds like the only difference is the air
or air quality from outside to inside????? and knowing
warmer air rises so whatever it is, it is rising above the
younger chicks who are use to it?????? best idea I could
come up with on a day of being mind numb......sorry.

TiaRC--So sorry for your losses. I am glad you have found some alive. I had a major set back a few months ago. It is so hard. Wishing you the best!

. CSB, the cages they are in are stacked guinea pig cages, similar to what Beth has. They are on a table. The top ones are still easily seen into by me, so really the differential on height is a whole 18 inches. Keep thinking, though. You often come up with factors I overlook.
