I'm in the Stedman area of cumberland co. I have a mix of breeds, and hope to be hatching some Barred rocks soon. I am always interested in a flock swap, so please keep me posted on any in the area. I am also open for buy, sale, or trade.
thanks

Welcome new flocker. On the first Saturday of every month there is a swap in Cedar Creek and one in Sanford and one at the tsc in Reaford. Most are listed in the Fayetteville farm and garden Craig's list section.

Lovely! Meat sheep! We used to raise them for both wool and meat up until a couple years ago.

Yeah hubby wants the meat for the freezer, so we're planning on getting three ewes and breeding them, keeping two or three lambs for freezer and selling any others we get. Debating whether to get lambs or two year olds that are already giving twins or triplets. If we go for the two year olds we'll have to wait till they have weaned their lambs that are due in April.

The flock swap at the TSC on Raeford Rd is awful! (It's right around the corner from my house).
Haven't been to Cedar Creek.

I have some Easter Egger chicks & some Leghorn chicks all close to 3 weeks if you're looking for babies.
(Have ducks as well....)

Back from my trip to Georgia and just loaded the incubator with this week's eggs. Almost ten dozen, but not quite after I sorted them out. Mostly Buff Orpingtons, Easter Eggers/Olive Eggers. Probably have a few extra Golden Cuckoo Marans cockerels to go, too. WooHoo! Looking forward to my first hatch this year!

I think I'm going to stick to one big hatch a month instead of continuous small hatches. I did the small hatch thing last year and did not like it. I can rotate the chicks through JDC and TBH (Juvenile Detention Center and The Big House) much more easily in the larger batches.

My doggies missed me while I was gone. I got a big greeting when I opened my car door!

I love buff orpingtons but everyone around here seems to find them boring color wise. I have a big buff who seems to be as smart as a dog.
