Good morning folks

DH has gotten a box of fishing net from another BYCer
to use for over the pens. It is used net from what I was
told but looks new to me. Has anyone used fishing nets
before? This one is a pretty green but I am worried the
wild songbirds won't see it and will get tangled. I'm going
to have to think of something so they see it.

I have two roosters going into freezer camp this afternoon and want to replace them with some layers anybody within an hour of the coast have any brown egg layer pullets for sale? I don't want to do chicks, too much going on right now! 21 weeks pregnant with a 3 year old, 2 year old and was just put on a gestational diabetes diet.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BHEP! (Again!)

CSB, you could tie strips of fabric on it, like we used to do with electric fence.

Good morning!
I have thought of that Hollow but just may be a LOT of fabric needed........
he got a HUGE net. The black woven net we have now is thick enough
to be seen by the birds.....this stuff is thin and green.....hard to see......
but prettiest green color

Does anyone know of any upcomming poultry shows in the Charlotte or Columbia, SC area? My daughtrer was thinking of trying her hand at it and would like to attend a show to see what they are like.

Coop Scoop Boogie: I was on that diet, I left the hospital weighing less than when I got pregnant it was great! Only took my 6 months to put it all back on.

Is there a trick to getting my turkey to raise chicks?

She's been broody for a couple weeks now, I have to keep going out & picking her up off all the chicken eggs and taking the eggs. Then as soon as the next chicken lay she's right back on them. We were at TSC & I picked up a few chicks thinking this might help break her. I put them right under her in the nest box. She's laying on them & keeping them warm, but she hasn't taken them for food or water or anything. They haven't left the nest box at all and it's been about 3 hours. I'm about to go take them out from under her and make sure they drink so they don't get dehydrated. Is there a way to get her to teach them what to do or should I set up my brooder?
