Hi everyone!

CSB - My husband has some pond experience. Along with staying away from deciduous trees, try to put it in a shady spot. If you put it in the sun, you will have algae issues. If they are set up in a good place, they can be pretty low maintenance.

How were the flock swaps? I went to the Sanford one today. I was wishing I had some laying hens for sale, all I saw were roosters and bantams. For those who took birds, I hope that you sold everything you brought. For anyone shopping, I hope that you found what you wanted.
I had planned for a shady spot or nearly shady for at least afternoons.........
don't want to cook the fish after all.

Can any of you tell me anything about Wazine-17 for worming my rooster? Not sure if that's the problem here but I need to treat them anyway just in case. Is it safe to use with duramycin? And with chick starter feed? I'm trying to cover all my bases here in case of coccidiosis or infection or worms! Help!

I stay natural even though I'm only 28 I'm oldschool in my ways I worm most of my critters the same way the same way my grand daddy did it and his before him feed them a little TOBACCO LEAF chickens love leafy greens so let's say you have 15-20 chickens just toss a good size green tobacco leaf in with them or gutt loaded tobacco worms works too ... Shoot in the growing season round here you can get leaves out of the street that fall off the trucks ;) as for coccidia purina start and grow medicated works

If he is weak worming can kill him. A light worming with ivomec may be ok.

Have you tried antibiotics? The first I try is a fish-mox(amoxicillin) capsule.

sbrooks...   how old?   ..what are the symptoms ?????.   Did I miss it?

He is a year and a half old rooster named monkey. He was perfectly fine. Then yesterday morning his comb and waddles were so pale they were orange. I treated with sugar water yogurt and some strawberries. He ate it. But today e was much worse. :( very slow and sitting all puffed up. I just took him some electrolyte water and then some medicated chick starter feed and he ate it like he hasn't eaten in days. He also feels much lighter today. Like his breast bone and sternum are very palpable through holdin him. :(
