North Carolina

Nice to see another chicken folk in the mountains! I'm also in healthcare (Rad Tech) and love it. Where in western NC are you?

Just out of curiosity, do you have any experience with apple tree grafting?

I am in franklin :) as far as apple tree grafting I just now delved into that and found a source for resistant rootstocks and hadn't yet found a good scion source....
I wish I knew more people who had a bunch of apple trees so I could get their prune clippings and graft some.

I also found out that you can graft on to wild crabapple as rootstock which I would love to try. Again I just need to find some people with good apple trees before I can play with em.

Aww that's awesome. I don't think I could handle being a teacher. I lack patience lol. Sounds like a fun job!! I was at unc chapel hill if u go to that campus :)
I'm in the boonies a place called franklin kinda near asheville. We are known as the "gem capital of the world" lol
Woohoo
. Patience. I'm grading the exams I gave today. I had to stop, as I ran out of patience. But mostly, it's fun. Best job in the world most days!

I think you'll be too far out for a visit, though. :(

Quote: Been there a few times, great views and all. Think its on 64, but there's a great bbq place that we always stopped at on the way there or back.

well i came home and the ameracauna chicks were still alive. I gave them some more medication and only noticed one bloody dropping but it was orange meaning theres less blood coming out. They're still not in the clear though.

I brought them all inside cause it's gonna get cold tonight, it's good weather to watch game of thrones.

I'm such a BBQ snob because I like my pulled pork best so I don't go out for it. ;) Ahh now I'm hungry too!!!

. I do remember that they had licenses plates everywhere on the walls. But it's been at least 6 years if not more since I have been there. The husband did some work up that way the other year so he might remember, I just have to remember to ask him

Kits!!!
Apparently the doe we got a few weeks ago was pregnant. There's 7 in there, didn't want to mess with them, the black ones blend in with the black fur. Just in time for Easter

Hope everyone has a great day, it's chilly this morning!
