North Carolina

That's awesome!
I'm using 13 gallon trash cans I drilled like half inch holes all over then covered the holes with screening material on the inside.
I can't properly turn it though.
I can't keep up though I could easily fill  one of those cans a week, I don't have the capacity to do it.

Those with the pile you're just putting in chicken poo and hay and turning it?  It's not causing more fly issues?

The chickens scratch through it abs rest all the bus they find everyday so on assuming they are keeping it down. Fat more flies in the cop than the compost. Then again this is a really old pile that is mainly just the spent hay from the duck pen and chicken coop. Nothing is discernible at the moment. Just looks like a big pile of dirt. Which is good. Funny though because I added a load of duck pen mud hay a couple weeks ago... but it's already dirt.

Well the road blocks keep coming. So far this year there has been a wild turkey hen (who is a serious repeat offender, as in almost every day) a huge snapping turtle (that if one hit it with a vehicle, it'd leave some damage), and this morning a decent sized king snake. Just hoping the bull doesn't show up this year again.

Also hoping the snapper doesn't decide to come visit Lake Ramirez before I get it pumped out again, as I seen him not even a mile up the road. Last spring we had a decent sized river cooter show up in Lake Ramirez.

If those who see this report it to the wildlife folks, they should do something about it. Canadian geese are a protected species under the International Migratory Bird Treaty, just as hawks are. If reported to the right people, something can be done.
Unfortunately I am at work when they mow but I see the aftermath
on my way home and it doesn't take rocket science to know that
fresh cut grass means the tractor mower is the reason for all the
egg shells and bodies. We seen a "few" goslings about 2 weeks
ago and they are gone now........right after they mowed. If I see it
happen I will make some calls.

Cooper and Bonnie and Clyde finally got put awsy. Cooper was out for 6 weeks. The last straw was Cooper coming into the yard in the middle of the day. The boys did a fabulous job of running the girls to the house. Horses= ok. Wild bull = not so much.......

Hope everyone has survived the storms with little or no damage.
It's rather wet here and is going to be very muddy for a few days
but we really needed that water. Now the trees and yard will be
good again. I was SOOOOO tempted to take my shoes off and
play in the water.......the parking lots were so full......but I still had
to work and really didn't want to sit in wet clothes till I was done........
but it was so very tempting.......maybe next time I won't be at work.
