What have I done to deserve this? Just months ago had over 10,000.00 worth of everything I own stolen and my house destroyed then find out my wife may have heart disease now 200.00 worth of rabbits killed last weekend and woke up this morning to every single bird I own ripped to pieces in the coop and run by the same dogs that well over 400.00 worth of modern games and american game grey/hatch, asil and my new thai plus all my sebrights gone! These were my pets and babies! Why? They didn't eat them just gutted them and left them in pieces same with the rabbits

I have to agree with Tikkijane............they need stopping and you need to get some lead, cocked and ready to pull the trigger. Usually don't like killing dogs....but in this instance....I wouldn't hesitate.. AND.....yes, this pack is a danger to a small child or any animal. They will grow bolder each time until its a goat, donkey, horse or mule. A pack doesn't hesitate to do what the leader starts.. And then a grown up.! Load your gun and get a lawn chair and sit and wait...they will be back! Wish I had some pullets and roo for you but just went thru ours and downsized...rehomed for free... Would loved to have rehomed to you for free.

Anyone put eggs in a carton when they go on lockdown?

I would think it would limit their movement to be able to roll the egg around to get out?

I cut out the bottoms of styrofoam egg cartons and put eggs in during lockdown. I have never had any trouble with them getting out and it limits any soccer activity from the newly hatched. :)

@farmraised86 Good luck.. Maybe you should hire a trapper to get those feral dogs and coyotes before getting more chickens unless you have Fort Knox set up in your backyard..

A local BYC flocker Is hooking me up with a few birds to get me started again yay thanks hildar! Does anyone else around sanford have any they don't need? Lol I miss the noise

I have a friend that owes me money so he's getting me a rifle I plan on spending a lot of nights camped out in the greenhouse above the coops waiting to get every last one of them when they started with my goats I was thinking that my kids are smaller than what they are trying to kill now my neighbors wonder why I haven't been letting my kids out to play :/ I've gotten 3 with my buck knife but hatching them is hard running through woods there now 11 or more to go

they dug in and tore wire and broke boards but I spent all day yesterday rebuilding everything with about 100 pallets so if they get in again I give up. But now I just need new birds

sounds like you need to use heavy gauge chain link to rebuild before you get more birds.....
and since they dug in I would suggest lining the bottom with a skirt of at least 12 inches
as well as a top of some sort. Good luck

I built up two pallets high and one pallet out on the ground which doubles as a catwalk around the coops it looks like a pallet fort knox ;) and in other places I went over the exsisting wire with heavy cattle fence and again around everything on the ground

How much should I price my purebred chicks at? My pure breeds are bantams, and how much should I price my mixed breed chicks at? The rooster for the mixed breeds is a Swedish Flower Hen over several different breeds of hens.
