Figured I would share...my husband is from Wisconsin (and yes, he laughs at the "winters" here...if you see a guy walking around in winter with no jacket on...it just may be him). I was the daughter of a Military man (a special THANK YOU to any/all our service men/women on here & their families) so...lived in Scotland most of my life and all around. Call Ohio home because that's where most of our relatives are...that or Tennessee - but I don't know any of those relatives.

Me, I am THANKFUL for warmer weather, but not HOT/Humid weather like FL or those Gulf Coast areas!!

Gavin spoiled my surprise...but I'm STILL super excited (boy I use super too much...need another adjective...

) about getting some chickens. Hubby and I are starting our shopping this evening. I made him promise to check out the cull bin at Home Depot. He's a bit hesitant because there might be "extra" work involved. I told him to suck it up. I saw someone on the coop page get 6 pieces of 4x4x12 treated lumber for $20!! They are usually like 5-6$ a piece!! Oh the things I'm going to hunt down!!

I did have to promise that the next TWO big purchases are a truck for him (so he can run our farmette) and his garage/workshop (which is okay, because we're going to build a schoolhouse/room in the loft of the garage...so it all works out!!) I have the camera charging so be prepared for photo overload...especially since some of you are being stingy on your hatch photos!!

Haha...Ab - Sorry to hear about your "packing peanuts" issue. Maybe they mixed up your order with someone else?? Either that, or it's one whopper of a bonus??

Hooray Hooray, what a day!

I have to leave soon to the baby sitter's house, then work for me... but I like my job, so its a good thing. My taxes finally got fixed after all the stress, so I'm able to sit down this afternoon and get all the bills paid up. Its like the weirdest feeling to have the whole family working and living again. To know that we're back on track feels GREAT!

Then tonight I get to go get the parts my car needs to be fixed, and I'll be able to get it inspected this month. I just feel so good, like a weight has been lifted.

I'm hoping after all this I have enough to build one more little coop out in the yard.... but I have to finish the new garden plot we started first. So much to do, and so little time and $$$. I guess the new coop could wait until next fall? HAHAHAHA.... NO!!!

Hope no one got washed away yesterday, hopefully we see sunshine today and I can't wait for the nice weekend ahead.. I can get out in the yard.

yesterday was crazy busy - My new paint silkie arrived and MAN DO I LOVE him!!

but please don't tell any of my other chicks that.. I love them to.. But again he takes the cake.. My husband even adores him even though he said "He is just a chicken" but he had him out of his cage and letting him room on the side of the sign shop where he is working... <<uh "he is just a chicken right?"

first new picks on my blue/splash cochins, all six are the same exact color - I can usually remember the hatch order but not with these guys.
