I have too much invested to play with them anymore. Now I just want people to be aware of it and check their feed.

IMO, the lack of response is reason enough to avoid the brand. I can't say I'm the biggest Purina fan on the planet, but I would put money on the fact that they would at least respond to a customer complaint. Probably respond with a coupon/sorry form letter, but at least they would acknowledge the problem. Big fail on Nutrena's part.

Quote: I really did expect a response. I even keep the tag from the bags for the lot numbers for when they did respond.. Yup, it was in a lot of bags.I started noticing some green and blue colored material pressed into the pellets. I thought it must be vitamins or fish protein flakes. Then I saw red flakes. Then obvious plastic material like what the bags are made of so then I really looked and found tiny plastic shards and even 1 that looks like the fluorescent bulbs in the chick food.

I would take pics and post them all over their Facebook page ;) **as well as a big post about their customer service (or lack of)
I buy pelleted alfalfa from Standlee Co, have for years bc it's great for using to refeed my rescue horses. About 30 bags ago, I found a bright blue pellet ..I contacted their customer service who IMMEDIATELY emailed back ..I sent pics and ending up sending the pellet in at their request, they had it analyzed and determined it was plastic twine..unfortunately I don't think they carry anything other than roughage/forage..but that is the customer service I expect from a company I trust to provide feed for any of my animals..hope that you can find a good substitute. .I know what a PITA it can be :(

What a nice surprise to see so many posts here on
the NC thread. We use to get posts like that every
day and some times as many as 40+. I'm not sure
why the posts have slowed down but it is great to
read so many and see the community sharing again.

hope everyone has a good day

It stopped sending to my emai for a bit but started delivering again. Welcome to all the new flockers!

Yippee!!!!!! I have baby chicks. I have Dells and GNH from Kathy in Mo. they are so cute. The dells hatch really good the GNH were slow to hatch and one or two just have not been as healthy so far(2days) . I love it when they start to follow my fingers along the big tote that I retrofited for them. They were shipped eggs and some were even broken in transit. I was so afraid they would not hatch but out of 3 doz. I have over half to hatch. Pretty good for the fact the box was partially crushed on one end and egg yolk was on the other eggs. It wasn't the fault of the sender it was a crushing of the end of the box by the PO. Why can't they read fragile and handle as such. I know that they are over worked and stressed to the limit but live eggs should receive better care. Just saying
Monday will be cull day for the ones that are not really suppose to be here. Some are just much to weak. I hate it but for the rest its better not to have these. i will not have the energy later to pamper as I do now to keep them going. Its sad for me. I think one will not make it. Maybe not even through the day. Its color is much lighter and it seems much smaller too. ?? what kind it is for sure. I know one is not the same . It has strips. I hope it is a sliver laced wyn. I think they are really pretty and do not have any. Last hatch she had inclued some but one was male and one a cross beak that did not make it. I am finished hatching for this yr. but if anyone has speckled sussex chicks let me know. I would love to have just a few. I am in Franklin, NC in the mtns of NC.
