Eastern NC here also. We are in Wilson county. We have bantam cochins, Barbu d'Uccle, Seramas, a few Silkies and Satins, some Dutch and Old English bantams and a few odds and ends.

They're smaller, and they sometimes fly?

The hens tend to get broody more easily than other types of chickens.

Ours were hand raised and very tame.

I've never had standard chickens.
