if you were close, id inquire about the bantam mix pullets, and blue bantam cochin cockerel-split to lav.. i have a cochinf bantam pullet, that might not get some of her type from the baby boy that got with her as chicks to keep company. but curious how they look anyway. i have about nine feathering game chicks to rehome..
NH or SCM..... way back....when you were building your coops & runs, you told us were you bought your hardware clothe. I am looking to buy a roll that has more then 10 feet on it and can't find anyone around here that sells it. If you could give me the name of the place I would appreciate it.
Nothing hatching around here....it is strange
I do have 4 peafowl eggs in the hatcher. I don't know when to expect them to hatch since I pulled them from some broodies. They look full.... I had them marked but it rubbed off.

Everyone thinks he did it himself, but I don't know what would of startled him
There where no fireworks that night. Before I went to bed at about 11:30 he was asleep on the roost and seemed fine. I was hard to find him like that. What was horrible was trying to get him out of the fence I couldn't get him out, he was stuck there. We had to wait for my brother and he was able to get him out

That is very sad, I am very sorry. sounds like something may have startled him.

Have a young lady from your very town coming next month to the Chickenstock to pick up a Silkie pullet, maybe she would transport for you??

We went to AgriSupply in Garner...they had the biggest (48") that we could find and were cheaper than the 36" at Home Depot/Lowes (can't remember which one we priced). I think for one roll we spent somewhere around $45-55. Hope that helps.
HT - I can't believe you got that sewing machine for that...what an amazing find!! I definitely need to scope ours out again!!
Well...I just HAD to share with you all my day!! It starts out with me letting the chickens out first thing in the morning (5:30)...so I walk into the coop and INTO a spider's web WITH a spider on it. After running out of the coop and trying not to freak out any more than I already had...I grab something to knock down the web and spider all the while scolding my chickens for being fat & lazy & mean. I let them out, check feeders & waterers, all is well. There is a window that isn't open so I go outside and behind the barn a little to open it....
There is ANOTHER huge spider's web. I grab my piece of spider knocking wood and knock that down enough so I can get the window open when "who" do you think I see? That stinking black widow is back!! She seriously needs to go!!
Since my morning has started off so pleasantly, I gruff my way back into the house, send my husband off to work and get started on my sewing project. DD wakes up and that's when I realized I should have just stayed in bed!
I walk into her room to find her COVERED in poo, so badly it is actually UP her nose!!. She's sitting with her glow worm, just a talking and happy as can be. I get a bath ready and take my smelly sweetheart into the bathroom.
The best part of it all...her diaper was completely clean. I have NO idea how she managed to poo outside of her diaper...
at least that gave me a little chuckle. Needless to say...I think tomorrow I am going to refuse to get out of bed!!
Edited: I just HAD to share my story, so I edited myself.
