Anyone here near Cabarrus County and/or knows anyone that is selling Barred Rock eggs? Hawk got one of my 10week old babies yesterday. I only have one left. DH claims that he doesn't want anymore chickens, but he is actually heartbroken over his little rock. He has really been a trooper during my last "chicken escapade"... I brought home 20 new babies and a GQF incubator. ( he actually had to build me another coop) . He doesn't understand that my peeps are my therapy. The all listen when I talk and don't interrupt or think I'm crazy. I can bring all my work stress home (I'm an ICU nurse) and talk to them about it...they don't get grossed out either! They are really the perfect pets. My daughter now wants to start selling chicks for some extra money. She is 8 and I think the experience will be great for her. (she will soon learn WHY she needs to go to college) ha,ha We currently have 20 guinea eggs in the bator and 40 more on the way as well as some light brahmas.

Still no eggs, but glenda is enjoying her inside time especially when I bring the ducklings in to snuggle with her.

to all the new Peeps!!

We had a downpour of rain yesterday that lasted all of 20 minutes...everything is already dry & crunchy again today.

Still. No. Eggs. DD and I go in there every morning to check but so far nothing. I think they have decided to wait until it's cooler...or winter.

Either that or when I get them from the lady from church that is giving me 9 dozen eggs to bake this wedding cake. Once she gives them to me they will start laying.

That's just my guess.

Anything's possible at this point, right?!?

So any of you gardeners out there have a nice fresh, spicy salsa recipe you'd like to share?? Our farmer/neighbor (such a sweetie) stopped by last night and gave us about 3Lbs of fresh tomatoes (along with a cup full of cherry tomatoes). I already have peppers (sweet & hot) on hand and some canning jars...so I thought one of you might have a recipe you'd like to pass along my way!!

I'd be ever so grateful, otherwise there's no way we could use up all those tomatoes. Around here...we are salsa fiends!! I LOVE IT!!

Just wanted to pop in and say

I know I've been away... playing the waiting game. Unfortunately, I'm still waiting. They have NOT gotten my bloodtests back to review. It went from being back on Thursday (last week) to Friday to today. Well, they are not all in yet and the Dr won't review ANYTHING until they're all back in. They are telling me I will probably have to wait until Tuesday or Wednesday now. Seriously? 8-9 days for test results on an infection? RIDICULOUS!!!

So I've been on meds now for over a week for something we don't know what it is, I'm not feeling all that much better and it maybe we're treating the wrong thing and we don't know because the doctor won't open the file and look at the tests that have come back? Yes, 5 out of 6 tests are back... they're not doing anything until they have 6 test results?!

Goodness, I wish I had the physical strength to throw something... because I would! Oh look, a tissue... I think I can manage to throw that in anger!
