nczoo~~nice job on the weatherization....just watch for snow weight that may cause collapse

Doozy (my new Paint roo) started crowing at 6:30....freaked out the 2 dogs, which started barking.....so much for sleeping in til 7 (Doozy is living in the diningroom/hatchery)

Checked the 7 day forecast, and we're suppose to have daytime highs in the 40's!!!

See you'll after I feed the birdies

Boy you can tell I'm up thar with junkman, come 9:00 I am ready for bed and you younguns are just getting started. [Not that you go to bed at 9 junkman [I be talkin bout age] anyway I always miss all the good stuff. I never had anyone try to teach me to knit being a south paw , but my friend taught me to cross stitch, but there again you have to set still for a while to do it. Oh we have 29 this morin and some snow with ice on top, to bad I don't have any cherries. As soon as we get a good thaw BC will do just that, Look forward to meeting you, and hopefully some of these other Tarhills at some of these dadburn shows[I think junkman has had an influence on my way of talkin.

Miss Lydia and BatCave too,

Very easy to do on your own page and here on the forum.

Each method is slightly different but simple - all you need is to have the pictures stored on your computer, or some place like photobucket and then watch the video in the link below - it shows you how it's done (I do better when I SEE something done, tather than read instructions - so I found the video wonderful)

You'll have pics posted everywhere in no time! Can't wait to see pics of your chicks!

The material is not the flimsy plastic, it's house roofing grade. While the pic is deceiving, it is pitched, so when there is enough on there, it will flow off. . at least that's the plan

...The shade fabric underneath it - the dry or just plain rain roof/cover held up when we had snow last week, but we physically went out and scrapped snow and ice off it, or it would have left one big puddle for the girls to run through. The weight also could have messed up the fabric and assisted the girls (one who should be called Ms. Houdini, instead of Trudy) in escaping.

I don't think it's possible for it to collapse, but if enough fell at once and froze before it slid off, might need to wait for sun to melt it.

I have to laugh, watching the girls dance around out there while sleet is falling - and they are bone dry. We aren't heating the coop, not even a lightbulb - while I was raised on a farm in New England, we didn't have chickens, but we had plenty of neighbors who did and none of them had electricity running to their coops. It was much colder there than here, so I'm just hoping that my youngest, at 17 weeks now, will stay warm enough - she's a Welsummer and supposed to be more cold-hearty than the others. They all look great, bright-eyed, active and perky - bwaking away when I go visit them. They expect a little treat when they see me, so I always have a handful of oatmeal, black sunflower seeds, a few string beans. . .nothing huge, as I want them eating their feed too

Stay warm and dry. . .BTW where is Bat Cave?

Wow! Great duck/chicken house! I'm sure lots of humans would love it too! Really nice!

Okay, to place pictures on the forum, since you know how to upload pics (click on uploads on the top of this page, then click on 'my uploads' at the bottom of that page. . .or stay on that page to upload more), if you go to your uploads - choose the picture you like and below the pic are two lines of code - a thumnail and an image code. . .IGNORE the thumnail one. Scroll your mouse over the image code and LEFT click it once - and it will light up in blue. Don't move your mouse off of it, just RIGHT click it and choose COPY by LEFT clicking on it. Then come here to the forum and where you would type whatever to us, RIGHT click and choose PASTE by LEFT clicking it and it will drop the IMG tag here. When you click SUBMIT - it will pop the picture on here.
