North Carolina

Doesn't take long at all. About 30 minutes in the AM and about an hour @ dinner time. 90% free range, so just open the cages and off they go. They go to bed at dusk and me & the kids just go out and count & lock up the doors.
A lot of the chicken count are young so are unsexed. I am sure 60% roosters so will go to the sale. I will be down to half that amount come winter.

91 are not chickens, but other feathered/winged friends

Yes, thank you. She is supplying me a egg every other day.

Great to hear, is your chicken still sitting on the duck eggs you took home?

No but I'm going to use the incubator I built in a few months. I posted pics of it on my Facebook. Let me see if I can find the link.

Just got free money in the mail! Blue envelope the size of a magazine, says Nielsen TV Ratings! Wife put it straight to the trash pile and I for some reason thought it needed to be opened and it paid off!!! 5 dollars in sequential bills!

to all those on fb, are you aware there is a NC poultry page? Friend me - Gavin R Dyer - and I will add you if you like, we have some good discussions on there. Also one for the Charlotte area if anyone is interested.

WOW perfect weather for cleaning the coop!!!

Got a few moved around, clean bedding for all, ground DE'd and then my OCD kicked in and I decided to Swiffer the coop.. I might be crazy but the dust on the interior chicken wire was driving me bonkers...

Everyone is feed, clean waterers and clean swimming water for the duck, now inside to clean the house.
