ATTENTION LOCAL RALEIGH AREA PEOPLE!

I got this email from the Waterfowl Rescue. I do not have any further information outside of this email, so if you have any questions, please contact the rescue.

"We received notice of a pond in Raleigh that is being filled. The
business is closing and there are 50 domestic geese there that will
not have a place to go. They are all Pilgrims, Toulouse and Embdens.

The geese have been abandoned over the years and have just bred and
accumulated. The rescue does not have the space to take in these
geese right now. We are sending out a special notice to anyone who
is in the Raleigh area that has a pond and can take geese to please
contact us. We will try and coordinate distribution of the geese.
Email [email protected] if you have a pond and can take geese
either permanently or temporarily.

If you arent in Raleigh please share this info if you know anyone
close to the area. You can also consider adopting from us locally
since we can make space here for birds if we adopt some out. We have
birds ranging from the largest swan to the smallest parakeet.

Also we have some upcoming volunteer opportunities. If you have been
considering volunteering her have some times set aside for you to
meet face to face with someone at the rescue to go over the different
opportunities we have.

Available dates are:

Saturday October 8th
Wednesday October 12th

We also plan to host a monthly community service workday. If you need
community service hours you can join us on Friday 21st at $pm for the
first session. If we have a good turnout we will continue the
workdays to allow access to people who just need short term community
service hours.

Please RSVP to volunteer items to [email protected]

Thank you for your continued support of the animals!

CWR Team"

So, after playing phone tag for weeks the local (Marshville) NPIP Tester have a date for my birds to be tested. It will be Friday October 7th at 8am!! He is also bringing me information on becoming an NPIP tester too......

G&A that is very nice! It took several emails and phone calls before I got up with someone too. We decided to wait until my chicks are 16 weeks and then get tested all at once, otherwise hed have to come out again when they were of age. That gives me 12 more weeks to add any additional birds I want

would you let me know how everything goes? I am relatively new at this and hearing from your experience and your more experienced take on the situation might keep me from doing something not smart!!

These are the runs in the barn, we are starting to build more of them on the other side today, should have another 5 or as well as still a hutch space when we are finished.
