What kind of silkies do you have?

Just a hodge podge for the kids. Two buffs, a black, cuckoo, blue, gray, a lavender cockerel and one adorable pullet that ended up chicken feathered rather than silkie.

DD will be showing the buffs this winter and her lavender just as soon as he is old enough.

Ok so I have stopped laughing long enough to be able to tell ya this...
About an hour ago I went out to check on the chicks and b sure they were warm. Well the Orpingtons were forcing the Cochins off the roosts and away from the heat lamp

So I brought them inside and put down a plastic paint tarp on my floor so they could run around! I was watching them and eating a hot cup of chicken noodle soup! When Lil Lily decide to fly up and check out what I was eating...
She squeaked real loud as if to say “WORMS” and jumped INTO my soup

it was hot but she relaxed and sat down and looked at me like “I always wanted a hot tub”.

Just one of the many reasons I love auto spelling correct!! For some reason it doesn't like the word bator and tries to "fix" it for me. But not consistently. Just for fun it does it occasionally and I forget to check... Darn gators are all over!!

Morning all............

We will be heading out to the Wicked Chicken Auction today. I think I counted 11-12 roosters to go

Javas, BLRWs, WCB Polish, Dark Brahma & Mixes. Also all my Quail, I do not want to keep them all winter. And some feathered out chicks, a couple of Seramas and 2 young peacocks. I need to thin down my ducks, but I just don't have enough room to bring them this trip.
Going to be pretty cool today, so I hope that does not keep people home. But nevertheless they need to go.

Then I NEED to get BUSY finishing up the breeder coops. Some hens are at the point of lay. I would like to get them separated. And I still need to move some chicks outside. I will wait a few days, it should warm up a little. Their pen is ready.

AND......... Down to the nitty gritty. Last lock down is Oct. 16th. Then the big bator is being shut down

I AM eyeballing some buff silkies, but I can use my little bator for that.
