Good morning folks

We had a nice slow soaking rain yesterday
and I know the trees and shrubs really needed
that but I am ready for some sunshine. I hope
we get more rain over the winter but it is nice
if there are days inbetween that are sunny. The
poor chikens look a sight all wet......they have
access to indoors but seem to like to get out
in the wet.........especially the youngsters

Good Morning, Soggy People!

Lovely rain yesterday! We needed the rain, and I'm glad it wasn't a cold rain. It did keep me from taking some things out to storage, but the boxes are stacked up by the door and the truck is parked outside, so it won't take long today.

Since my jury duty got canceled, my furnace can get repaired today!

I'll be moving out some of the biggest chicks from JDC today or tomorrow, and putting them in with the older chicks from Daddy. They be fascinated with the ability to go outside, although I'll keep them in the moat for a while and not let them free-range. The younger of the JDC group has to stay for a couple more weeks, but it will certainly relieve the overcrowding to get the fully feathered ones out. Especially since I have more chicks coming. Hubby will be shaking his head at me. It's a good thing I buy most of the feed, so he has no idea! That's okay. They may be young now, but they'll be paying their way soon enough. Eggs and chicks, eggs and chicks! My computer is acting up and won't let me make another paragraph, so I'll just wish you all a good day!

BHEP,
I have one lavender orp that is about two yrs. old she is a pretty thing. If I had the room I would be on your list. Since I only have room to stack so many in moving back and forth to the mtns and coast each yr, I have to hold my num. down. What a bummer. I love them all soooooo much. Each fall i have to sell or give away all but one or two of each kind that I like and end up with no more than 16 or so total. I name them, or rather my Gd does so once they have a name they must stay from then one. sigh.
Sometimes I can slip a lookalike in its place when its really old so I will have a layer. One day she will lose interest and I can do what ever but not yet.
. Unfortunately she is a city type girl??????? how that happened I do not know. Her Mom Is too? What happened? I guess when I was rearring the children I was to busy working as a nurse and tending them and the family garden. I didn't have chickens or livestock around much. They both are afraid of a bug,go yew! at a bit of poo or anything else. sigh , whats a grandmother to do. I am trying but they still do not like the idea of chickens except to look at them.
