Good morning folks

Today is the day I have to go back to
work.........I do think I could handle a few
more days off to rest from the holidays

The weather has not co-operated every day
so there are some projects that I didn't
get done that I was hoping to finish........
guess I have lots to keep me entertained
for this new year

Good morning everyone!! I hope you all had a wonderful start to the new year?!? I had a sewing day with Miss Alex (

) while the hubby built (all excited I might add) a brooder box for our chicks...which are growing like weeds.

Only to be told, after it was all built and the birds transferred over...that they are ready for a juvi pen and no longer need a brooder box.

DH was crushed (THANKS ALEX...haha jk) and we are now planning to "send" them over to the coop we've been using as quarantine as it is currently empty. We will have to do a little tinkering so it is a bit more juvi friendly and predator proof, but it will give him another project to do this weekend...after he finishes the greenhouse or before, I have no idea.
These seed catalogues are plaguing me...I am REALLY wanting to start gardening....NOW....and yet our ground is NOT ready and we will have a LOT to do this year to amend for all that we didn't do last year. I am trying to convince my DH to bring in top soil (like a dump truck or 10 full) and really just build the soil up with good manure so we won't have to contend with the clay...he's not 100% convinced - which I can understand. He wants to keep things relatively inexpensive as we are in for a LOT of changes (ACK...I have to buy a mini-van!!) and just don't want to get strapped or put in a tight spot!

Seeing my pregnant belly fit into the greenhouse MIGHT qualify as a tight spot in the coming months!! LOL.

Beth, your last egg hatched, which makes 17/17, but the last one was black, not lavender. Still, that's 100%, which is pretty awesome!

Dear Beth,

I'm sorry. I guess my incubator wasn't working properly after all. You loaned me those 17 eggs with high hopes, but I regret to say that I only got 5 lavenders out of the 16 that hatched today.

Seems everything is in order after all, eh? See you Thursday for pickup!

Now that does not work about the morning sickness. The sickest I ever was came with my first child , a bouncing baby boy.!!! It let up after a bit and I felt great the rest of my pregnancy though. Congrat. Gloria Jean

Go cuddle a chicken? Sorry, I can't think of anything helpful, except when I'm stressed the critters are always helpful. And pregnancy hormones are horribly stressful...drop a hairbrush and cry type hormones. Ugh! I never had morning sickness with mine, so I have no helpful cures. Just hugs.
