I work fulltime also. My daughter and I started with 6 chicks last March. Then we got 4 more a couple of weeks later and then a friend gave us some more. We got hit with chicken math pretty quick. We now have 17 all around 1 year old. We mainly got them to have some fresh eggs and something to try and keep us busy. Well we definately have both of those now but we get to watch some chicken tv and have some good laughs. Good luck with your hobby,

We have a tiny farm - 2 horses, 4 hens, 1 rooster, 3 spoiled dogs and 2 barn cats. We had chickens once before, but very briefly, so we're definitely new chicken people. I'm also new to this forum and like it very much. People are very friendly and willing to answer all my dumb questions!

I have one of the cutes little Ameraucanas in my lap right now. She is from one of the hens we just lost, and I am so happy that I had a few of her eggs in the bator when it happened. I hope they all hatch. Prayers for little birdy.

didn't get nearly as far as I would have liked.. had to get my mower running and change the fluids which turned out to be a disaster. Anyway tomorrow is another day..

Whatcha settin? I want a bator so bad. DH told me I could get one for my birthday last month but I said no, cause I know me and we would have more babies than we need.

Anyone have any Cochin, silkie, or frizzle roos for sale in Asheville area? Or Buff Orp pullet/hen?

And on another note...I have my first eggs in my new bator....I feel like a kid again!!! Its soooo exciting...lolol.
