Lovely coop!

Will be ready to get the girls into the coop/run and out of the garage in a few weeks.  Do I put them in the coop and later open it up so they can go out to the run?

 

With an enclosed run, you should be able to allow them access to the whole thing. Mine free range a pasture, which is why I want them locked up a day first, so they understand this is their new home.

Tarheelbirdy: They are about 6 weeks old now. Hoping to get them out to their new home in a few weeks..

I locked mine up in the coop for the first day, then opened the door to the run the next day, and let them figure out how to get out by themselves. For the first couple day, until they learn to roost in the coop, you will probably be sticking chickens back inside at night, but they learn quick.

well let me take that back i am planning on hatching some paints in the next month or so

I would love to see pictures of your paints. I breed them as well. Always looking for new bloodlines.

I may be in the market for some pullets. I would Buff Brahma Bantams, but nobody seems to have those. What does BLRW stand for? I know the silkie frizzles are more for show, but what amount of eggs would someone expect from them?
