Good Morning, Happy Chicken People!

Did some more rearranging of chicks yesterday. Moved the oldest out of JDC to the Halfway House. Then moved more from the nursery to JDC. Hubby has almost finished one breeding pen. I'll test it on the Orpingtons.

Hope your day is awesome!

Well, I have let my 'babies' out a few evenings now, they love just poking around the yard. Marigold went missing and she had gotten away from the 'flock' and couldn't find her way around a 4 ft fence by our oil drum, so had to pick her up and carry her back around front. Curly Sue is the one that I think wants to be broody and she pecked my hand when I went to pet her, well Wendall flew into her and gave her head a shake! She hasn't offered to peck me again! He is such a beautiful roo and watches those ladies like nothing else. I took a can of yogurt and a spoon out and sat with them yesterday evening. They slung yogurt all over me and each other. They love it. Now everytime I go outside they are begging to get out of the pen! Hope everyone is having a great weekend! It is lovely!

Hubby finished the first of the two coops for the breeding pens today. Just gotta paint it. I think I'm going to do a test run first though, and make sure no alterations are needed since we've never done a small coop before. Our henhouses are pretty good sized. This is a raised house meant for a half dozen or so birds, not fifty or sixty. I think it's good, though. After it's painted up, I'll post pics.

Today seemed never-ending. Just went on forever. And I'm very tired without accomplishing a whole lot. A good night's sleep will be good.
