Accckkkkk!!! Not the beard!

Hope you recover quickly and well from your surgery....and hope the beard grows back fast,
Looking forward to more pics of your little one, too!
Thanks Meg! I actually went to a follow up today and he was surprised at how fast I was healing. Cleared me to go back to normal!!!! We're not gonna tell the girlfriend yet, she actually cut the grass (well she tried) since the doc told me to do nothing LOL

Good afternoon everyone! No rain here but a 30% chance all day. Very hot and humid so I would not mind a quick rain shower at some point. Just not the mini hurricanes we have been experiencing.
Our pond has spread and attracted large turtles as well as forcing rodents and snakes to seek higher ground.
I think a few families of mice are considering moving in with the chickens. They play in the nesting boxes at night and steal bedding for their burrows. They aren't wasting my feed because I don't free feed but I have had some mysterious chick deaths since they arrived and will try to live catch them in a tall bucket and offer them to the chooks. I'm quite sure my turkey hen will try to eat them all.

A year or so ago we had some rats that were killing our chicks, they'd bite a leg or wing and suck blood leaving them dead. I don't know if mice would do that but in the past I have thrown mice into the chicken pen and the chickens love tearing them apart

Go figure, just as the neighbor's side of the lake is pretty much gone, it starts another week of rain

Atleast my side of Lake Ramirez has dried enough that the fish pond is no longer part of the lake, and I am happy to report that I don't have to chase down fish to be put back into the pond either. All the fish went back into their home on their own. The green beans are still under water, well whats left of them. Just happy the tomatoes weren't over in that section too. On the plus side, my kiddos (who love frogs and toads) have been having a great time seeing the whole process of the egg cycle. The invasion of little hoppers lasted for 3 days. The ground ( what little bit of it there is) was covered in little hopping frogs heading towards the woods. And now I get to look forward to another week of rain and a tropical storm in the gulf

I think I need to borrow some ducks to teach everything here how to swim

Hope y'all have a great day, I might try to mow the front rain forest...
