Hi, I'm looking for an Ameraucana Rooster for a friend at work.  We are in the Davidson County area.  Anyone know of a roo that needs a good home?

oh no. i am so sorry. that is so sad. i just introduced my dog to mine yesterday. he is incredibly interested, but just wants to play. i don't know when i'll actually be able to let them be together. my cat doesn't even know they exist yet. strange. i thought she's smell them a mile away.

oh no. i am so sorry. that is so sad. i just introduced my dog to mine yesterday. he is incredibly interested, but just wants to play. i don't know when i'll actually be able to let them be together. my cat doesn't even know they exist yet. strange. i thought she's smell them a mile away.

Mine started off just being interested. He attacked once they were about eight months old. My last dog I was worried about when I first got into chickens about ten years ago because he would go up to the brooding coop and whine to get to them. Turns out, he was the best dog I could ever had. He became like a papa to them all. He routinely attacked and chased off chicken hawks and even took on a great horned owl once. So it can really go either way. Just don't get too comfortable with them until your dog has proven himself. Even then, remember that dogs are still predators at heart.

Who laid it? It's a VERY light brown egg, almost pink. Weighed in at 1.75oz. Candidates are Light Brahma (30 wks), Red Stars (21 weeks), Buff Orpington (21 weeks). I'm thinking it's one of the Orps, but have no experience to be sure. Whoever it was only gave me this one yesterday, none today.
