My phone won't let me post a picture right now but they are fully feathered out and I believe they are 4-5 weeks old.
I've never used a flock raiser what type of feed is it? are they crumbles or pellets? I feed layer pellets to my grown laying hens and the roosters eat it too. For my chicks and 4 to 8 week olds I feed starter crumbles. I know the instructions on the starter say to feed starter crumbles all the way until they are 12 weeks old or so

Hi everyone! I have a question about Purina Flock Raiser and I wanted to ask on here because many of you own different types of poultry. I bought some Turken/Rhode Island Red chicks and I will post a picture of them and maybe you all could tell me if it is okay to feed them Purina Flock Raiser. Thanks Everyone!!

I buy Purina flock raiser and Reedy Fork organic soy free starter crumbles, mix them together 50/50, ferment it, then feed it out to my mixed flock of chickens (varying ages and breeds), turkey, guineas and ducks. They love it and I've never had any problems because of it.
If I had more money I would just buy Reedy Fork soy-free but goodness, that stuff is expensive!!

I free feed oyster shell so everyone gets their calcium without endangering any roosters or young chickens. :)

Good morning folks

Question::::::::::::: I have EE who are around 7 weeks.. Been feeding them chick food but when can I change over to adult food? I have 4 hens and they are fed layer pellets.. Getting tired of buying 2 different foods but don't want to do anything to hurt the little one's systems... They had done well so far.

Is anyone interested in some cockerels? I have a bunch that will need new homes eventually. I have:
13 week old buff EE (EE/ buff orp mix)
3 month Rhode Island Red (was supposed to be pure but I think it's a RIR/ barred rock mix)
7 week old "ameraucana" Easter eggers- these should have beards, muffs, pea combs, etc but assorted non-standard colors
7 week old australorps
7 week old black laced red wyandotte
8 week old mixed breeds (buff orpington/ EE and BO/ olive Egger)

I am in Moore county. I can take some photos of them if anyone is interested.

You could try feeding everyone starter feed but offering the layers free choice oyster shell.
