Well I was given a bit of a blessing today! My wife and I have been talking and I have many years of nursery and plant work under my belt and have been throwing around the idea of starting a nursery of my own. Ok so greenhouses are needed for such a thing right? Lastnight just before bed I post an ad on fayetteville craigslist looking for various materials one of which being windows and first thing I wake up to is an email from a guy that's cleaning out the warehouse of a recently closed glass business I'm getting just about 100,000.00 worth of glass guys! I'm talking everything in there warehouse is mine greenhouses galore I'm taking it as a sign

Don't forget to start small and build your way up. I've also learned planning is key before you start investing. (learned it the hard way)

Nice! I was like, really?! Where are they? Lol. I would have LOVED to have feathered legs on my cuckoos. I am pretty sure hatcheries haven't gotten there yet, and by extension, it seems the general population doesn't know they can or should have feathered legs here in the US. I'll keep my eyes out for the extension, for sure.

I think I'm going to start with clones and grafted trees like fruits and nuts and work toward flowering trees than things like grafted jap maples and pines ofcourse the bread and butter will always be seasonal flowers though

I wish I had the funds to start a nursery. I cant even get a greenhouse. If i had one I would focus on vegetables, particularly tomato plants. They are so easy to grow from seed, they grow fast and theres a good market for them. Some local seed shops sell heirloom tomato seeds by weight. If you can grow at least a 1000 plants in a greenhouse and sell then for about 2 to 3 dollars each, you can make a profit.

I grow a bunch for us here anyway I could just get a ton extra going. I try to stick with heirloom because I don't think they GMO those yet
