Happy 4th and Goodbye Arthur! Hope everybody stays safe especially all the critters

Good morning! Today I pick up my wonderful niece who comes to spend a week or two with me every summer. A teenager who works! I thought last year would be her last as she starts college this fall, but she insisted she was making time to come. We'll get some fence work done, clean out the feedroom, clean out the big chicken house, and more. And I'll be the good aunt and take her shopping at the outlets for college needs. I love this young lady.

Cool this morning, so windows are open and house is airing out. The critters are loving it!

I picked up a few extra meat chicks because I got a good deal. I've up to 25 to let go at $1 each if anyone wants them. They are less than a week old. Price goes up a dollar a week due to the amazing amount of feed these guys can consume!

Enjoy your weekend!

Don't need chicks but sure love that you have got such a wonderful niece !!

You don't find many kids like that anymore. Sad they don't know how to work! My oldest GD used to come spend the summer with me and I always had her a job ready...usually at a fast food place, but she learned how to work and it gave her such confidence and independence. Learned what $$ was all about. She's moved on now but now the younger grands are asking to come when they get old enough. Didn't have chickens back then...they also have them. So now the youngest is going to spend some time with me and help me with the chickens. Soooooo nice !!!

Oh man Meg, you're killing me!
We just processed ours you know it's impossible for me to keep a pen empty!
We're going out of town for a week, if you still have any left next week I'll take them off your hands

And glad you get to spend some time with your nieces, I think it would have been so much fun to get to go stay on a farm for a few weeks of summer!

I just got my vertical chicken nipples delivered (no luck on horizontal) and there are no directions whatsoever or on the website.
I know how to do it, but does anyone know WHAT THE DRILL BIT SIZE IS???
I'm assuming these are all universal?

Thank you starlingdaly!

Last question, has anyone gotten their rabbits to drink from poultry nipples. It said on the site it oculd be used for them as well, but I didn't know if it would work.
****'s really hitting the fan over here for me tonight!
