Moss Farm

I have seen those door kits at HD, Lowes, and the local hardware store. They come with all the brackets and braces just cut your boards to what ever size you want screw it together, just about squares itself. I have used them before to make gates and shed doors.

That will make it a lot easier thanks. Going there today to pick some up. I'll buil doors in the shop when it starts raining. Bout got the other half of the roof sheathed with plywood. the roof will go fast. I use to be a roofer back when I was going to tech school I knew that's not what I wanted to be but it gave me a another skill under my belt. Thanks everyone for the info. Have a good day I'll pos pictures tonight when I finish for the day.

I believe I am. I really like the gentle giants. Its hard to locate a buff though.

A couple of places here had the buff chicks last year. Keep me posted on your search, I could pick some up for you if you don't have any luck finding what you want closer by...add them to my chicks and arrange a pick up whenever :) I'll likely be adding to my flock this year too but prefer the lights.

Thanks. Wonder if habitat for humanity has windows? Found some shingles for $13 bundle that's $10 cheaper than lowes. Did the door hardware come in a kit ?
What Chicken Hound said!
Note that the brace is a full T, with the additional angle, so they support all the boards. The size you cut your 2 x 4s makes the difference on size.

400

Got one half roofed today all the plywood sheeting put on. Going to try and finish it before the rain moves in tomorrow. When the rain starts I'm going to go buy all the material for building the doors so I'll have something to do while it rains in the shop
Not decided on what type of siding to use either going to be rough cut pine lapping or cedar siding

Those brackets almost look like shelf angles that you hang
on a wall and then lay the shelf board on it. I wonder if some
of those would work?????

I'm sure they will. I'll let you know. I've got about 6 of them in the shop that I had leftover from building my shelves out there. I'm still going to buy the ones for building doors just incase they want work

Those standard L-brackets will work fine if they are heavy enough. If you are interested, I have a few old standard house windows out in an old building. You know the kind that have 6 panes, and you have to caulk. They would need a coat of paint and some caulking, but are sound as far as I know. Just attach with a couple of hinges and Hardware cloth under and you are all set. Let me know if you would be interested. The price would be as cheap as you would ever find. Just let me know and we will work out pick-up and or delivery if it would help out.

Good morning folks

Friday at last. Suppose to rain today according to the
weatherman. We need rain but I hope the weekend is
dry......got things to do. I am debating on whether to keep
the two Araucana boys. They are beautiful birds and make
great EEs as they are big boys themselves......just they
also are rumpless as they should be. I do like a tail on my birds.
