North Carolina

Welcome from Macon cty. NC.
We are having snow again this morning. At least the temp has gotten up to 32 today instead of 4 like the other night. Amazingly my hens made it through so far without heat. I do have a nice house for them though. I think the wind is their worst enemy.
Welcome all newbies. Just wait for the chick fever to hit.

Once you start it is hard to quit. You just want one more breed to have and raise. Yep I'm hooked , been for a long time. If it wasn't for health problems I would have hundreds by now. But I really have 13 at the present. Now thats discipline.

Doesn't mother nature know its almost Spring time here.

Very cold here in the eastern part of the state as well. We and the animals are glad for the break from the cold this weekend. We are expecting more cold next week. I hope that at least the sheet of ice that is my backyard thaws out today!

It got above freezing here today. Crazy weather it started with snow, then clear, then rain. No telling what tonight will bring. If it snows I like it to be pretty and then go away. I always dislike Ice or freezing rain. Shiver..... Its 39 here. I hope the rain is gone before tonight because it will drop below freezing then. What weather. About 4 more weeks of winter here.

Practically neighbors...Sampson Co. Welcome! Yea...ready for a little warmer weather tomorrow. Just wish it wouldn't rain.
Me, too! We just retired and returned here from being stationed in Hawai'i for several years. I was just telling my DH that I had forgotten what "real" weather was like and how much rain is different here and can really ruin your day LOL It's worse for the chickens because they don't get their yard time. I think we are going to build them a rather large pavilion type tractor that they can use on the rainy days. I've been asking DH for a gazebo for years and years, but I'm sure theirs will get built this year...
