Good Morning Bat Cave Silkies!! We are trying to get a few "winterizing" projects done today before the bad weather starts to roll in.

Mainly focusing on the two LF pens outside. All the bantams (serama's & bantam orps) are in the horse barn and should be alright as they all have lights. I am sooo not looking forward to these cold blasts that we are getting. What happen to those mild winters we were getting.

P.S. - Lockdown today on Maran and Bantam Orpington eggs.

Good Morning BC and all, can't say I am looking forward to more of this cold, snowy, windy stuff either. We still have alot of ice, Most of the duck and goose poo is frozen on the ground yuck, Even pouring hot water on it hasn't budged it. Only good thing is the snow will cover it. looks like we're in for a good one again this year. Most of the old timers around these mountains say it's more like it use to be. I can't wait to see pictures of your new Christmas present BC. How exciting. Your Serama is beautiful HenThymes. I'd love to see one in person. Well ya'll have a great day and batten down the hatches.!

Thats true BC but it sure looks mighty nasty out there on the ground. And quit showing off that you can make chickens move on your post It's not fair.

I'm soooo excited~~~~one of the Christmas Presents I bought myself today (lavender pullet)
just won Reserve Variety AND Reserve AOV at the Shawnee Nationals !!!

Going to get snow till next week, I do miss those mild winters. This will be my newest batch of chickens first snow.

Right now, I only have pics of her in the show cage....I'll see if I can upload one. After I get her home, and loved on, I'll take some "good" pics.

I don't want anyone to misunderstand~~~she was bred by Bren (Bren's Birds of Paradise), and shown by Bren~~~I just happened to be fortunate enough to buy her this morning BEFORE she won
