Well we've had a change of plans won't be going to Walmart till tomorrow, UPS is hopefully bringing the oxine I ordered today and I have to be here to drive up to the top of our driveway to meet him. he won't drive down in here

Good morning everyone it is much warmer today and am so happy

The chickens are out and my rooster is crowing non stop

The past 3 days he has been up at 4 am crowing

cant get a good night sleep

Almost afternoon and still I'm in a mood. . . must have woke up on the wrong side of the crate this morning. Other than smiling at photos of critters, I'm not fit to interact with

The warmer weather should have done some good to my spirits, but naaaah. Hope you all have a better day than I'm experiencing.

It's called SAD[seasonal affective disorder] I have it too, if it wasn't for all my feathered friends and furry friends [well it wouldn't be pretty]

Silly day. Net was down this morning, but all is well! I spent lots of time with Conan and team Coco today! They were really digging the weather. It's nice to see them out and shaking out their feathers!

Good too hear, we had 41 for a high, but still plenty of ice and snow all over, the chickens have now taken up ice skating. I have almost joined them a few times very slick out there. They did get out and mill about more today though:cd

For four days during the bitter cold, my girls did not lay. I gave them warm things to eat, and they were happy, they just did not lay. Wednesday I got two eggs, out in the open, frozen and cracked. Yesterday morning around ten, I went out and there were seven eggs. I was shocked. I went out again around five and there were four more! I only have five hens. I have a rooster, but I know he is not giving me eggs. That is eleven in one day!Today I got five.

Do they store them up? I am calling it egg constipation.

They also have decided since it is not so cold anymore that they will lay on the straw under the nests. I have to use one of those grabby things to get them out. I told them that 40 degrees is not spring, but they will not listen.

......just in case we forgot to say it! Those eggs were probably hidden and they put them out where you could see them mine do that to me sometimes. They can only lay an egg every 24 hrs. Silkies we have to see some pictures; I am hoping to get 2or 3 this springI got 6 eggs today must have had something to do with the weather.
