Posted on the NC/SC swap board but I am going to post here too. If anyone is interested I have a young Cuckoo Maran's pair for sale. They were born in November. They are just PQ but the pullet should lay some nice "chocolate" eggs and the cockerel has nice barring. Anyone looking!!!

They went in this morning, right now it is at 96.2 an the humidity is 37, should i still get it higher? You have to take the lid of to fill the grooves in the bottom where the water go's.

Good afternoon all, I am so glad that I didn't lose power last night as I have 33 eggs going in to lockdown on Wednesday. I had emergency back up of 100 degree hand warmer pads to put in if necessary to keep the temp up.

Henry has settled in well, he was ticked we put him to bed before the storms hit!!

The Barred Rocks are giving a regular 4 eggs per day which is good. Dandelions are growing again, so they will get their daily feast of leaves - their favorite for some reason!! Just wished the roo wasn't such a prick....... but he's just protecting his ladies.....

soon be Friday, hopefully some early chicks and the show on Sat!

They went in this morning, right now it is at 96.2 an the humidity is 37, should i still get it higher? You have to take the lid of to fill the grooves in the bottom where the water go's.

I see that your temp is slowly rising, that is good just give that some more time before adjusting. Your humidity is not coming up, with the LG it is always good to have some small clear tubing that you can insert into one of the vent holes down into the water channel, then you can just syringe some water in without having to open the entire thing.

That humidity during incubation needs to be at least in the high 40's.

It is back down to 94.6.

Then you may need to start tweaking it, just a tiny bit at a time as LG's are very touchy.. I only know because the first year that I incubated it was in LG's too.

Last night was too much water too fast. I had just put the first feeder under shelter when it started. I didn't want to lose all that feed so I kept going. I only lost 1 large feeder to the rain. I just poored it in the garden for everyone to dig through. They like the wet food if poor it out. Any left tonight will get buried, don't want it molding.

I had to run a few birds to better shelter, but everyone made it through just fine. I built the houses with OSB, so the extra weight kept everything in place.

I am currently waiting for the neighbor to get home. Their husky climped their fence and then mine and killed Sandy. Sandy was mom's little girl that was so friendly. I got her from "Nadine" on here. She was from a Mille Cochin Project.

Needless to say, MOM IS ticked!!! The new Mottled pair comes out of quarenteen next week and the boy was going to be Sandy's new boyfriend. I was really looking forward to the chicks that hatched. I know they would have been gorgeous. Sandy was laying regularly, but had no male that should would let near her. The Dutch boys are afraid of her.

For once animal control actually came out, but the dog was back in it's yard. They will catch it if they can catch it out, but if it comes back over here I am to shot to kill. There is now a rifle at every door heading outside. The officer gave mom his personal cell number to call him directly.
