It is back down to 94.6.

Then you may need to start tweaking it, just a tiny bit at a time as LG's are very touchy.. I only know because the first year that I incubated it was in LG's too.

I tweaked it a little and it is up to a steady 97.3, I am afraid to touch it but I want the temp a little higher. The power was out for 4 hours last night. I am just glad I did not set them yesterday. The humidity is at 36 so I am going to add a little water to bring it up.

If you get a mixed flock it does not matter what kind of rooster you get. Pick 1 thats pretty.

Now give it some time.... the eggs will help stablize it... go ahead and add a little water. You will lose some humiidty when you open it.

You need that temp to get up to and stay at 99.5-100.00 degrees. Also make sure when you add water that it is really warm so it doesn't drop your bator temp and have to climb again.

Matt, I am soo sorry for your loss and soo angry that people don't take better care of their animals.

We work so hard for what we have and cherish it very much for others to just take it from us. Some people can be told by animal control over and over again to handle their animals and keep them home only to find them wandering again later the same day. Sometimes you just have to do what needs to be done to protect your own stock. I hope it all works out the way it should for you...

Darn silkie broke 2 eggs in her nest already, only 4 eggs left she's sitting on. Why are my birds so rough with their eggs? Am I giving them too many?

Thanks to everyone for the kind words about my sweet girl, very much appreciated! Not many folks around here understand true chicken love like you guys do.

BUT alas, all may not be lost! I went home at lunch to check on her and she was significantly more alert and mobile compared to this morning.

I set her out to soak up some sunshine and get a little fresh air and she stood up and pecked around for a minute, drank some water and looked interested in her food. I'm not getting my hopes toooo high, but maybe she'll pull through after all! Keep her in your thoughts!

I'm SO sorry about Sandy. There are few things that aggravate me more then a loose dog left to run amuck. Have you talked to your neighbor?

MotherClucker 1216 I have a ton of family in that area. My aunt and her husband both work for the city of Garner as city planners. Also have a bunch of family in Micro.
