Coop Update: Rain stopped and work began!! I was entrusted with...
lau.gif
the PENCIL!! That's right, I got to mark the wood, DH cut (using a miter/chop saw...oh yeah, look at my terminology!!)
lau.gif
and laid out.
Status: back wall is assembled and DH is in the process of drilling the holes in the concrete.

The "Forman" decided to sleep in this morning and just woke up. Good thing the workers decided to get a jump start. She is anxious to get out and "help" but it is rather chilly, so I don't know. (Reads: paranoid first time momma).
The only accident so far: 2 crushed fingers (MINE) when DH lost the initial grip on the wall.
gig.gif
they're just fingers and I did get a big hug & kiss for my "boo-boo"!!
lau.gif
Aside from that, DH was able to put 2 nails to every ONE of mine!!
barnie.gif
I am a slow hammerer apparently!! (That sounded better than saying I was too weak to get the nail in the wood after only a few hits!!). After the Forman's breakfast, might head back out and mark some more boards while DH drills!! I will post a photo once the wall is up and anchored (I have strict ORDERS that no pictures of the workers are allowed to go in there...
lau.gif
camera shy!!). Praising the Lord the rain left quickly, although it does look like it might return at any moment!!
Happy Saturday everyone!!

They are!

They are outside all day and I bring them in at dark. As soon as they hear me up in the am, they start shouting for me.

Food first, then outside.

I had them in a little chicken tractor, but it is low and they outgrew it. So now they are on my patio (gated in). I want to let them out with the bigger ducks, but am a little nervous. The 2 big Pekin boys are FULL of hormones and are chasing & catching my older runners (3 months old). I may bring them (runners)up to the patio and supervise them with them little ones, so they can join forces.

I did order 10 ducklings from Metzers, should ship out this Mon. 4 Runners, 2 Pekins, 2 White Crested & 2 Golden Hybrids (the layers) ALL GIRLS! That should even out the score.

Sorry to hear bout your folks Greenskeeper, I hope all goes well and a quick recovery for them. How long should I keep putting the hens eggs off my sumatra roo under broodies. I lost him last saturday. I don't know if he was doing his job either.

Very Funny Miss Lydia! Go ahead and put the eggs under your broody. I have also heard 2-3 weeks. Ya never know..... Good luck.

My its cold out here!! Thanks BHep for the pics!! They kept me warm out here!! Just wanted to update everyone...wall 3 is done and we are about to anchor it. In another hour we will have all 4 walls up!!
woot.gif
!! I must complain though...our forman was lazy...slept through most of the construction & cried at the big noises.
gig.gif
How did she get this job anyway??
lau.gif
well...back to work...photos soon, I promise...can't load them from my phone.
gig.gif

Stay warm out there everyone.
