Waiting for the next batch of Quail to hatch, due Wed-Thrus. Then some chicks due Fri-Sat.

Went to the auction yesterday, sold most of the chicks I just hatched. Kept the Seramas, Silkies, OEs & Orpington... OBVIOUSLY ! Sold all the banties & EEs. Plus a Silkie rooster. Next week I will bring some runner ducks. I have too many. I have 15 now. So will pare down to 7-8. I am thinking to keep 2 drakes & 6 hens. They are so skidish. IDK why.....they were hand raised and as soon as they moved out, they act like I am the boogieman

They do look pretty freeranging and should lay some good egg. Now the Pekins, they are friendly, they can stay.

NOW the Sebastopol geese are the BEST !...... I LOVE THEM !!!

SUper friendly & snuggable. If I had to choose...geese all the way ! Got 4 more babies from a friend Now we have a Gaggle of Geese..

I love saying that.

I have not introduced the bigger babies to the little ones yet, maybe tomorrow.

And of course I bought more hatching eggs. Pheasants, Golden Seabrights & 3 dozen mystery eggs. All shades of brown and 2 white. I cracked 2 and both were fertile. 50 cents a dozen. Ya can't beat that, I can sell the chicks for $2 a piece and it pays for the chicken feed. Also feeds my hatching addiction

Hey everyone, well I lost one more this morning and another probably won't make it till the end on the day.

The good news, I have really been pulling for my olive egger pullet as well as the little blue bantam orpington chick. The olive egger seemed to be a bit better as of yesterday evening. I have still been much worried about the little blue as I didn't feel it would make it thru today either. I was just on my way in the brooder room to start trying to feed it some yogurt when what do I see but the little blue eating on it's own! Not out of the woods by no means but that is a great start.

I have a couple more that I am still watching close but hopefully things will turn around now.

Thank you everyone for the kind thoughts.
