Matt - thank you for those sites!! It sure is helpful for those of us with little ones that don't want to drag them out all over to piece together a kit (especially in this HEAT).
I don't know where those fires were, but we were certainly covered in smoke yesterday. I didn't know about the fires until my DH came home, and I (silly me) said the farmers must be razing their fields again for it's awful smokey...DH laughed and said I need to listen to the radio or news more! Oops!! Hope everyone is okay from those fires!! I officially loathe where I live sometimes...I found a tick imbedded just under a spot but fortunately I was able to remove it. Man that thing was TINY...
At first I thought it was a scab and thought...hmm...I don't remember having a scab there... then...it....MOVED. After screaming and panicking...I found a pair of tweezers and did pull the thing out entirely (phew)
I think I passed out ... mentally at least. I was SO HAPPY it was on me and not DD!! I can tell you I check and recheck her over and over again....paranoid....that's okay with me. So DH tells me... you've been feeling rather

Still he's letting me get more chickens, so I guess I can't complain!!
Spending the day making matching outfits for my DD and her friend (whose birthday is 9 days after hers) so they can wear them at their birthday party here next month...then...making baby food in between cutting and sewing sessions. DD is getting some new foods: Fennel, parsnips and turnips
don't know what ANY of those taste like...guess now is a good time as any!! I'm hoping if she doesn't like them...the chickens will!!

Edited a second time because I noticed I cannot use proper grammar....
So going to make some corn on the cob for dinner and save the cobs for the chickens. I hope that cheers them up, I bet they are miserable today.
