The black stuff on his comb is where there was blood drawn, and it is how it is healing. My roosters all have a tiny bit here and there, but its never enough to worry me. Not sure about your girl though

somebody please chime in - but are her/his chickens the correct breeds she/he was hoping for??

where are the feathers on the legs and to big ball of fluff on the butt for the cochin?

the blue laced wyandottte - I don't see any blue - maybe a splash wyandotte..

please forgive me if I am wrong but they don't look like anything I have...

Well I never claimed they were high quality for the breeds/color. They were free.

The cochin looks like she should have more feathers. The pictures were also taken with a camera phone. The BLRW's color is a very light blue.

I never said you did - In the past I thought I had one breed and then find out they were completely different.. just didn't want the something thing to happen to you

I wasn't trying to be rude - just helpful!

I promise I didn't take it that way....I left out the

.

I'm just trilled to have them. They are super sweet and I can't wait to get them out of QT.

Thank you so much to green acres, green familyfarms (any relation BTW?

), and buttercup and anyone else who responded for all the great info! I got up with someone at the state vet office in Raleigh who not only had the curtesy to answer the phone but all my questions as well. Everything you have all said about permits is what he also said. He couldn't answer the NPIP questions so he took my info and will pass it along to the local contacts. There is no one else in my area listed with NPIP cert in his computer. huh?! I would like to breed several of the birds I have here and sell either/or chicks or eggs. We'll see if I can ever make that happen, but I wanted to see what would need to be done so that I could plan ahead. I like planning. Makes me feel special. Probably the teacher in me...

Ha ha! Don't tempt me! DH looked at the permit form I brought home and said, "why would you want to sell them?" He looked truly baffled when he asked. Gotta love the man! If I don't, does he realize HE'LL be the one helping me build coops and runs?
