If anyone would be interested, I also am doing a clean out of some of my stock. I have a few things on my FOR SALE list

14 Standard BBS cochins 4-5 months old Parents on site, I have raised them all from chicks

11 Game chickens- not sure of Blood lines, etc

about 15-25 Ameraucana culls-- birds that I do not wish to keep for breeding that have flaws such as color, shape, build, etc.
A few Lavenders, and the remainder are Black, some will be black split to lavender(not sure which are splits) 4 months old
I haven't weeded out the culls for these but I am hoping to find great homes for all these birds. Send me an email if interested in anything and I will provide pics, more info. Great for projects, blue eggs, or someone that wants layers for their flock

I am in Mount Airy NC

BTW
My fiance was out at the coops feeding and commented that we must have 150+ chickens....I am afraid to even count

Oh and I almost forgot....I have a Trio of Silver Ameraucanas that I will part with to a GOOD home only. From My Silver flock. I would love to keep them but I can't keep them all

It been a very long while since I have made a post.. It is with a very sad heart I have to say I have lost a total of 6 of my 33!

I was good right up til the end of August when I decided to take a mini vacation to CT and leave my DH in charge of chicken count and capture.

When I came home.. they had begun to lay

BUT 5 were missing.. My favorite rooster and 4 girls!
barnie.gif
My first guess was they either wandered off or a raccoon or Fox got 'em.. Boy was I ever wrong! Today.. right before my very eyes I watched one rooster charge a coyote to save his girls.. sadly.. that coyote took my favorite rooster and ran off.. My boys and girls free range. they have ALWAYS been alright.. I mean we are talking almost 6 months with no issues.. Seems my chickens go missing when my dog mini vacations in the house..

I am officially down to 26 hens and 1 rooster.. If anyone has any YOUNG rooster they would like to get rid of.. let me know.. Mine is a cross of RIR and something else.. Not sure what the mix is but they were Yellow with Brown spots.. very pretty.. I dont care of breed BUT something that will be compatible with a RIR Hen would be fantastic!

I can ask the DH if we have any extra roos, they would be BCM or EEs. Are you close to the Fayetteville area?

I hope I don't lose anymore either! Its been devastating

I have noticed they do missing when the dog is in the house with my son and I during the day in between playtime.. So I guess Mr. Blackie has to stay outside with the chickens during the day. It takes me roughly 40 min (give or take with traffic) from bragg blvd. Let me know what you would charge if you have extra's. I would greatly appreciate it!

Very pretty! Sweet cheeks is cute too! And so verrrry tempting. DH would probably kill me.

Sjmarshall, so sorry to hear about your birds! I hope everyone else stays safe and you don't lose any more.

The two with a lot of white are d'uccle with calico color? is that a color project you worked on, or they just have some mix in it? I love the look on the two white one. I haven't seen that color on d'uccle before.

These 2 are not d'Uccles: picture

They are mixes that breed true. I do not know what all is in their original background, but they have bred true here for 3 generations. Body weight they will end up in the 2.5-3 pound range. Large bantams.

That's beautiful.

What will it take to register this color as a new breed of bantams with ABA? Why don't you concetrate on that color as a breeding group? I'm sure a lot of BYC people will be interested in. And the last question, do you sell any eggs from that color or any day old chicks?

Well I got a really really large, established dubia roach colony for treats! Let me tell ya!

I think Conan just might do a flip for one! Totally gross when I got it, but after hours of sifting through the stink, I ended up with at least 1000 adults, and who knows how many juveniles and nymphs... DEAR Dear Wife, still loves me, and is glad the chickens went crazy for them!!! Shared a video with my older sister.. She might have puked at the mass amount crawling up my skin! She also pointed out my nickname as a child was BUG. Funny how mom pinned me with that before I made it out of the crib.
And my last confession of the day...There is a hum coming from my incubator again! I think I misplaced some eggs in it also. My first silkie run, from Will and Kate.. Might be a few odds and ends from the others too...

We shall see!
Peace to all!
