My disappointment comes that we as a nation believe this... but we got no one getting it done! Didn't we used to be 'doers' the gun ho imaginative innovative country that made all the others COPY us?!
I have to say thank goodness for our neighbors and friends... because "We the people..." are the only ones keeping us going at all!
And thank you all for being my friends and listening to my rants!

If everyone decides on a time I am considering going... BUT I have a prior engagement in Pinehurst with a friend that will keep me busy most likely between the hours of 10 and 4
The fair sounds like fun. Wish I could go to meet some fellow chicken folk. But, aside from our friends that will be here this weekend, we need to get ready for our new grandbaby. My daughter is due on the 30th. But they plan to induce as early as next Thursday. We are so excited!
So, we are going to have to coordinate if we both need to take cars. (How long do I get to stay with momma and baby after they get home?!!!!) I should feel a little guilty because I know my husband will be the one that will come back and feed the livestock. He is good that way.
I really wish I could meet you all on Sat.! It would be really cool to put faces with names! Unfortunately DH is now coming down with something. Since he was going to fake it anyway, at least it's real! This is what I get for marrying a youngest son! Ha ha! Well, I really hope it misses the kids. I will be Lysoling every surface tonight and tomorrow to be sure.
Vfem, I hope your business takes off! It sounds like you are a woman with a plan! And again I curse the fact that I live 3 hrs away from you all! I have been hoping someone would start a beginners yoga class here for years, but they only offer it at 10 am at our rec center. I am at work (or home sick as it turns out this week). So, I'm there in spirit with you!
HenniPenni, congratulations on being a grandma! I hope everything goes well!
CSB & G&A, you said it!
NH where are from originally? We are originally from MI. We've been here for 11 years now so our kids were all born and raised here. Since I teach history I still think it's funny to be called a Yankee. No offense to anyone!
Wow...what a loaded question. I guess the best way to answer that was I grew up a Military "Brat" and spent my first 8 years living in Scotland (aside from being born in CA...but I was only there 2 days, so that doesn't count...lol) then came to the US and bounced around about every 6-12months depending on where my daddy was stationed. Finally my senior year of HS, my daddy retired from the military (GO NAVY SEALS!!) and we moved to Ohio to be with my granddaddy who was succumbing to Parkinson's Disease. Finished HS, College, Taught in College & HS, went on to finish Grad School in Ohio (GO BUCKEYES...hehe) and then got married (ut oh...to the youngest!!), went on a honeymoon and came back to Ohio to start house hunting only to find out we're being transferred....moved down here for DH's job transfer and found out I was pregnant (yay honeymoon?!?)...all in the span of oh...a month of living in NC!! LOL There MUST be something in the air!!
I'd love to go to the fair, but DH HATES crowds and says the fair will be too crowded (I think he's just too nervous for DD...it's cute). Aside from that we will be out by the fair as I am taking my sewing machine in for updates and service (since I abuse it so much). I will be with you all at the fair in spirit!!
On a side note: NEVER EVER EVER teach your child to sign "egg"!!
DD wakes up this morning and I ask her how she is doing...rather than telling me anything she signs "eat, egg, please" and proceeds to run to her chair and sign please....I think I've created a MONSTER!!
