Okay everyone...I thought I would share with you my DH and my evening. First I give you this photo:
So here is how the evening went. DH stumbled upon this critter IN the coop eating eggs (by the way I owe my chickens a big apology!!) So my husband is poking it with a stick to try and get it out of the coop.
He sends me a photo of the critter. I leave DD standing by the door crying because I am leaving her and head out in my PJ's to face off with an opossum. DH hands me a stick and my genius brain tells him to open the side doors and grab a rake/shovel. To make a long story short...after I was freaking out because the opossum cornered itself WITH Susan (as if she hasn't already had enough trouble), we managed to get it into the opposite nesting box and DH literally scooped it and chucked it!! It hit the storage shed and then scampered off. So...who wants to come over with their gun and have an opossum shooting contest?!?
I will offer up a big batch of death-by-chocolate chocolate chip cookies as a reward.
<sigh> Poor Susan!! I am happy to announce that Susan suffered no physical damage from the opossum!! She was "hyperventilating" but I checked her over and didn't find any wounds!! I am SO irritated with the stupid critter. I hate to have to kill it, but now that it's been in the coop, eaten the eggs...I know that there is no choice now! So...last offer, anyone want to come over with a big gun and kill it for me??
We'll come by and chuck an opossum for sheer entertainment for you!!
