Kim.... the mystery chick is most likely an EE.

CoopScoop.... the little black hen, we were talking about, (that I hatched from your eggs) she laid her first blue egg today.

Beth, I ordered 8 Araucanas (I am learning more and more that they are probably EEs) so do you think they would grab me another one? I would like to hope they'd get me something different but it is free so who knows. It does look completely different from the other 8 but I also see they can look many different ways too.

I just hope I get some colored eggs a little bit at least for my son and daughter.. I have been bragging all about how great of an experience MM hatchery has been for me but if they give me chickens that don't lay colored eggs and are passing them off as Araucanas but they lay brown eggs, I don't that would be very nice.

I wouldn't have ordered 8 and now maybe have a 9th freebie one and end up with all brown eggs. Hm? Guess I'll have to see huh?

lol. Kim

Kim..... The free beeies are usually roosters. MM is good. But I think ALL hatcheries call there blue egg layers Aracuna or Ameracana.

They should lay blueish/greenish eggs.

Hi NewChick,
The chick looks like a Sumatra. They are black with a black face and the bottoms of their feet are yellow. Sumatras are beautiful and rare chickens. You should enjoy watching the chick grow to see if it is a Sumatra.

Here's the best pic I could get of her little feet. lol. Any thoughts? And then the other pic is of her face and a chick that was my free mystery chick. Does anyone know what it might be? Thank you. Kim

Newchick look at the bottoms in a few weeks, but sounds like an aussie. Most ee's lay a colored egg. But there are a few that don't. So you should get some color outta 8 chickies. And you don't have to start a new thread to ask us a question, like everyone else says, don't mind helping if we can.

The first pics it was looking a bit yellow but this new pic the bottoms look pink to me

EEs come in lots of colors and so do the chicks and they usually lay a blue or blue/greenish
egg but can also lay a pinkish/brown or yellow egg. You will have lots of colors in your egg basket
