Heading off to the doctor's today for another check up. Hopefully you won't hear back from me for a few days and that'll be the POP we've all been waiting for.

I have a duck in a large dog crate right now sitting. they make wonderful brooders.

Is it at all possible that my naked neck Easter Egger crosses can be sexed by whether the necks come out naked or not? I have 4 of these crosses.

3 have naked necks, faster growing pin feathers, always had 2 different legnths of pin feathers, tail feathers out 1/2 inch
1 has no naked neck, slow growing pin feathers and until yesterday (or the day before) had 1 legnth pin feathers, tail feathers out 1/4 inch

They are a week old today.

Not sure. I am still trying to figure out genders on the 10 chicks we have(1 NN, 1 Frizzle, 2 Ameracauna(which may be EEs), 2 cochins, 1 polish, 2 leghorns, 1 mystery chick)! Have you shared pictures of your NN/EE chicks yet? I am curious to see them.

no the nn gene can be random if its a mix, just as the frizzled gene is

So I have been looking at incubators for my son for his b-day and have narrowed it down to 3 possibilites. To help with my decision for those of you who own the Genesis 1588 or a styrofoam incubator what is involved in cleaning it and how hard is it? I have no clue about cleaning but was wondering what it invovled. The other one I am thinking of is the Brinsea and being plastic would be easier from those who have helped me in my incubator quest.

That's what I thought. I have done just about every old wives tale trick in the book. I sold 3 today that I am pretty sure that 2 are pullets and the other not so sure. I am so excited to have had my first private sale today! Though I am left with 2 chicks - one not so naked neck cross and 1 non-crossed Easter Egger.
