Productive weekend. Got my run up and the chickens love it. Now to cover it and plant some vegetation LOL
Had to put the chickens on the roosts again. Silly chicks were just standing around. But did not have to make them go out side.
Did have to put half of them in the coop at dark last night.

LOL
I hope today goes well.

Had a bad night with one of my dogs. She keeps going after another one of my dogs. The dog being attacked is submissive (really submissive). Not sure what I am going to do. I love the dog but I can not let her do this any more.

Just hopped on to post that yesterday we hatched a BIDDIE!!
wee.gif
Yes, momma Olivia has hatched at least 1 lav/buff baby (it has a lav body with a buff head!)!!
yesss.gif
I don't know WHEN it happened as we weren't expecting the hatch until this coming weekend and it was completely dry and fluffy when DH noticed it. Momma was making such a racket we didn't want to upset her, so we haven't taken any photos yet. This week we will HAVE to finish securing the run so mamma can take her biddies out for a walk!!

Side note: how long do I let her sit on the other 4 eggs (not knowing when they are expected to hatch now. I had them all marked 3/26 which is when we noticed she was broody)??

Thank you again everyone for your kind comments about our newest member. I am sorry I have been quiet, but I am sure you can understand. Mom's only here for another few days, then DH's parents arrive for the weekend...THEN things will settle down and we can hopefully return to our new normal!! Have a great day everyone!!

Congrats on the chick, I would just leave her she will most likely get up on her on to care for this one if the others don't hatch in a couple days. just make sure theres water and chick feed near by so mama can show her where the food is without having to go far from her eggs.

Hi there everyone!!!
frow.gif

I know I disappered from existence but it's good to see so many familiar names on the last few pages. It'll take me forever to catch up and see what you've all been up to!!! I've been busy busy chasing around my two little guys who are now 18 months and almost 3. We spend most of our days runnning around the park or outside and my internet time has been pretty limited to my phone. I really hope you're all doing well!!!!!

I have a broody and was emailing with greeneacres today about getting some hatching eggs which I'm very excited about! This is only my second broody so I'm nervous of course. The first broody went really well and my FBCM hatched out 2 little white silkies - a little pair! They are cute little boogers. I go back and forth about whether I should keep them or find them a home. Anyone looking for a little pair to make my decision easier? I also may be willing to sell a couple of hens. That would be really hard but I know there will be more chicks from time to time and with my limited space it seems like maybe I should free up some space. It's started to feel a bit cramped at times and I'd hate to think I'm cramping their style! Really they've all been just as happy, peaceful, and problem free as can be which has also kept me away! They're just all happily doing their thing! NH - Bhep said you may be looking for a couple hens? Are you still using Reedy Fork feed? I've been going to an Ace Hardware that now sells it instead of going to the pick-up site. But I could always switch it back and meet up with ya! How's your little one? Another little one yet? Bye for now and glad I finally snuck away to come say hi!!!

Last week I went to Greensboro to do the first assessment for the Computer Integrated Machining Program being offered through GTCC and JobLink. Took a half day off work to do it. Passed the first level (hooray!), so I had to go to High Point today for the second assessment. Took the whole day since it was supposed to go from 10am to 1pm, and I had some things I needed to do for work that I have to do from home anyway.

Got to HP. Took the first two tests for the assessment, but then they couldn't find the materials for the last assessment. After waiting until nearly 2:00, they scheduled a time for us to come back and do the last test later this week, when (presumably), they will have the materials.

Of course, I'm down to gas fumes in my car, and have no way of getting more gas until I get paid on Friday. This wasn't supposed to be a problem, except now I have to drive an hour back to High Point to take a

10 MINUTE TEST

I really really really want to get into this program (although I have no idea what we're going to do without my income for 17 weeks), because it would do amazingly wonderful things for our poor and pitiful income. So...I guess I just have to figure out how to get to HP and back. With no gas. Joy.

Anybody know anyone who needs a kidney? How about someone in the market for a teenager for odd jobs and such?

I see you have entirely too many books maybe sell some? Hope you get the job!!

SCM, welcome back! Sometimes life needs to be lived and hanging out on BYC is just a perk when you have time. The family always comes first! We'll always be here though. Can you say "addicted"! hahaha
