North Carolina

Hi to Hollowoakfarm, I live in Lumberton, work in St. Pauls. Glad to see someone close by on the forum!

Glad to meet you! There's a bunch of Cumberland and Harnett County folk in here. Fewer from Robeson. I see you're empty-nesters, too! We should make it a point to meet over the summer. You're welcome to go with me to the WCA (wicked chicken auction) sometime.

Hello fellow N. Carolinians. I'm here in the mountains, like several of you. I live in Foscoe. I recently lost my entire adult flock over the course of 2 days to a mysterious predator, but I do have a brooder full of chicks, and an incubator full of eggs. So I'm hoping to go from 0 chickens a couple of weeks ago, to 30-40 chickens in about 2 weeks

Lavmom, my family are all from Wendell.

Hey BroosterSpringteen, welcome to BYC. Wendell is so small we probably know your family. DH has been here all his life while I left for a few years. Do they know any of the Wall's here?

Welcome to the flock new people!!

It's a beautiful Sunday here...desperately need to get out and pick some peas - Thank you for reminding me!! I'm off to entertain company. Have a great time at the Wicked Chicken Auction (WCA) those of you heading. I can't wait to see how things turn out for you all!!

"Know any Walls?" I think we're related! (Waaayyyy back somewhere.) My mom mentioned George Zonur and Lee Eldrid (I just looked up all the Walls on Ancestry that are in my tree, and remembered her mentioning those two.)

Went to the auction in Sanford yesterday.

Was interesting ans I learned I would be
careful at that one as it appeared they have
a bait bidder.......was rather obvious.
The seating isn't too bad, folding chairs
but you can bring your own bag chairs.
Prices were cheap, cheap, cheap
unless you wanted a rabbit......could
not believe the bids for them. We did leave
before it was all finnished but
I doubt it lasted more than 2 hours.

Hope everyone does well at WCA

Next weekend, it's construction for the outdoor Chicken Home, with fenced and covered Chicken Yard. It's going to be SO nice to get my office back, but it's also been fun having The Chickens in here and watching them grow.

Seems like DH is related to everyone we meet.
