Total Body count.... 2 - Blue Splash Ameraucanas, 1 - Adult Lionhead Rabbit, 4 - Lionhead Baby Bunnies, 4 - Angora Baby Bunnies, and 3 - Baby Meat Rabbits. Most of which died yesterday or late last night... after yesterday's ordeal.

I brought in the Momma Angora Rabbit and her last 2 baby bunnies... they are in a dog crate by the back door.

Today, I kept everybody sprayed down and kept feeding frozen fruits & veggies. I spent more time outside, than in the house... LoL ... While DH was putting down wood flooring in the kitchen/dining room.

So sorry for everyone's losses... and I feel for those of you dealing with life without AC.... That has got to suck!

Ouch! I'm so sorry. You had bad losses. Baby bunnies are especially susceptible, and there's so little you can do for them.

Well more bad luck/timing on my part

While I was rewatering/adding ice, found one of my young Blue Mairans DOA and a brown egg layer in the mutt coop. Everybody take care and GOOD LUCK with your critters! On a good note all of our fur babies are still doing great (some of them still don't getting wet even when it's this hot out)

All is well here.. we are fortunate to have a constant breeze...a warm one but at least the air was moving. Refreshed water...frozen veges....cold scraps and ice water bottles.

Glad to hear Mary is getting her floors redone.

Yep... some of them didn't even have fur, yet... so I was afraid to wet them down... like I did the others.... the last 2 "without fur" are in the house with their momma... in a dog crate... until this dreadful heat passes. I wish I could bring them all in... but that is not possible. But the ones outside are getting a good soaking a couple of times a day... and I am spraying the whole interior of their hutch... I will deal with the yucky clean up detail, when it cools down. My momma needs some more rabbit poop for her garden, anyway. It won't matter if it is a bit soggy.

Aww... so sorry about your critters.

And no they do not like to get wet... even when they are baking in the sun. Although a few of mine have got to where they will meet me at the door of their cage with their head down... ready for the spray off. I should have the cleanest chickens in the neighborhood. I did catch my snotty neighbors watching me from her back deck... looking at me like I was crazy. LoL

Glad to hear you and yours are bearing the heat well. Yayy.... at my new hardwood! I will post a pic tomorrow... we still haven't put the table and furniture back in yet.... I mopped with muphy's oil soap and I didn't want to smudge up my shine, yet.

Well yesterday it was supposed to be 98 and it was 105.8, today it's supposed to be 96, wonder what that means?
So so sorry for all the losses, but know that it would be worse if you guys weren't working so hard.
Alright let the fun begin, gotta go put fresh water and feed out, got ice bottles in the freezer. Yesterday one of my little araucanas got out when I was changing out water, rather than stress him by trying to put him up, I left him. He hid out under the yellow bell near the tractor all afternoon, when it cooled down he wanted back in the coop and the red rooster was fussing at him. One day we were moving the tractor and Rosie got out, oh my Mr. Red had a fit, he was clucking and fussing and carrying on about her, until she got back in then he chased her under the house quarreling the whole way, it was so funny! He's not aggressive at all, but he keeps the hens in line!
The hens are starting to have redder combs so hope they will start laying soon, they are 13 weeks old, when should I start feeding them laying feed?

The storm brought ping-pong ball sized hail to us, but it also dropped the temp over 20 degrees! I was on the computer when it hit, with a terrific clap of thunder. I got a huge shock from my laptop. It might be fried. I'll check it...later
