Good morning all!!!

I'm off today!!! FREE!!!! I'm going to run around to the farmer's stand and get some milk and come home and play in the garden. I love having a slow morning, no rush, off to do whatever I need to. So excited!

I was hoping to get a massage in today, that would have been awesome.... but I'll probably just make more fig jam instead. I hope the massage place calls me back and I can go next week though.

I've had this gift certificate for 3 months, its time I used it before it expires! I deserve some rubbing, especially after cleaning those chicken coops this past weekend in that heat.

Ok questions about egg size.. One or two of my reds are laying and the eggs are much smaller then i expected. I would say they are smaller then med/large eggs from the store. They are production reds or rirs from tractor supply what should i expect?

‎2 new layers in the flock today!

Got a brown egg (which could be from 1 of 3 cochins or the turken pullet) and a white egg (which could be from 1 of 2 leghorns or the polish pullet). I'm figuring the white one is from one of the leghorns, not sure about the brown one though. The cochins and turken are 19weeks old and the leghorns and polish are 18weeks old.

Patience, they will get bigger as the birds continue to lay. Glad to hear that your chickens are doing well!!

Had some pictures to share. I wanted to show how nicely my large garden has filled in this year, so funny to think I have to pull a lot out and start getting my fall crops in. My meat birds are doing great, and they are working hard clearing my garden paths of weeds and bugs. Lily is almost completely recovered from the attack and she's now in the 3rd coop as her new home, and she's much happier with the space.

From top to bottom, a large grocery egg, a Silkie pullet egg, an OEGB mix egg, and an RIR pullet egg

My ducks... Im pretty sure I have two boys and two girls.. any help proving or disproving my theory would be amazing!

Quackers (the one on the left) is the biggest of the three and Im pretty sure hes got a curly drake feather. They are all about 3 months old.

when do they usually start to lay eggs? My neighbors keep asking about the ducks to see when they can buy duck eggs from us.

I just thought this was cute. Shes always liked to cuddle :)
